Woke up, ran 5 miles, played soccer for about 3 hours doing pickup games and random stuff like juggling and a-s-s (like h-o-r-s-e) with friends, went surfing, and then hit up my friend's jacuzzi since I hurt like hell haha. Fun day though and if I keep this up, I'll have my six-pack before school starts. It's only about a 2-and-a-half-pack right now

11-mile hike followed by surfing. Another exhausting day but d@mn it was fun

Heading to San Diego next week for a little surfing trip. My friend's entire family absolutely loves me for some reason and they are gonna let us stay in her aunt's house on the beach for 3 days. Can't wait!

Haven't been around the forums lately. Hell, I haven't been playing much of WoW either.

Things are going great with the girlfriend. School starts next month, and money is still tight for me, but I'm so happy with everything else going on for me it's hard to worry so much about it. I'll get the money, I always do.

Just came back from camping this past weekend: We left wednesday and came back sunday night up in Sequoia, down in Kings Canyon park. I go every year about this same time and use it as a sort of De-tox to examine how my life has been in the past year. This year I stared into the fire and while sh1t has happened, over all things look well, and I was really happy.

I'm anticipating going back to school, as now I feel I have a better focus on what I want to make a career out of instead of just blindly charging at school, it's given me some grounding. I decided I want to do network IT for either a school district or small-medium scale corporate. If I can work in enough information security education into that I would love to become an ethical hacker. But one step at a time here.

I'll just say that on the girlfriend front: I'm really very happy with her. We went to the same high school but hung out in different circles, yet we shared a couple friends that we knew each other existed without every having met. She goes to another college across town that is up the street from her house, and not too far away for me to get to. Hanging out with her is always a blast, and we're a couple of nerds and things work out well: I can make a joke about an internet meme and she'll get it.

I do still plan on coming back for Reach. It still seems so far off but I know that it will be here before I know it. I look forward to holding a controller in my hand once again.

As far as WoW goes: My guild is still banging their heads against heroic 10 and 25 man Lich King. The 10 man group almost has him down, and the 25 man group is... not so progressed. Currently working on a rogue alt with a pair of canadian brothers than I've made good friends with who I met over a year ago.

Packed in early last night, woke up a little bit ago to register for my classes. I got them all with the exception of my english class. I'm number 9 on the wait list, and I REALLY dont' want to take it online again. I lose direction when I'm not in the physical classroom (i.e. I get lazy).

Didn't even get a minute of sleep last night and had to wake up early to go see a school counselor, plus I'm still recovering from the flu so I feel like craaaaaaaaaap.

Been lying on the couch all day playing Castlevania: Encore of the Night. It's some retarded remake of Symphony of the Night with the same characters, music, enemies, maps, items, storyline, leveling, spells, exploration, etc....but the battles are like Puzzle Quest

Surprisingly addicting game, especially since I hate Puzzle Quest. I kept telling myself I was gonna hop on XBLA and play the real thing, but I just wanted one more level.... and then maybe a new relic item.... and then kill the next boss....

X-Games last week was sick. Now I was at the US Open of Surfing all day today in Huntington Beach. Met a bunch of pros, won some free stuff like sunglasses, hats, and some sick Skullcandy earphones, watched competitions for skate, BMX, and surfing, and then I could just hop in the ocean whenever I needed to cool down. Didn't eat anything and the only things I had to drink were free Red Bulls so I'm finally crashing. I'm gonna be there for the next three days and I'll upload some pics when the competitions end on Sunday.

More BMX, skate, and surf today. Met Louie Vito and Mason Aguirre (Olympic snowboarders, don't know what they were doing there), Ryan Nyquist, Mick Fanning, and Kelly Slater. Got 7 hats, 2 shirts, a bandana, 2 necklaces, 3 backpacks, and a water bottle.

I left when Cobra Starship took the stage though, d@mn they suck


On a side note, I was watching the surf trials which were going on just north of me while I was out in the ocean. It's pretty sick because I can catch the same waves the pros are, but I'm stuck body surfing lol. Anyways, I saw what looked like a clump of seaweed or kelp and went to pick it up to throw at my friend, but this guy next to me said incredibly casually, "Hey bro, you know, you probably shouldn't pick that sh1t up man, it's a freakin jellyfish" and I swam like hell away.

Five straight days without putting on shoes or a shirt and tomorrow will be my sixth, I love SoCal. Never been a Weezer fan but they put on a hell of a show today, especially for free concert. Besides that, more surf, skate, and BMX comps with the finals tomorrow. Can't wait!


Best part of the day: I was watching the Weezer concert and next thing I know, a topless girl falls into my arms and I'm stuck trying to find her top somewhere on the ground in the middle of a giant crowd and tying it back on. She was crowd surfing and some douchebag ripped it off. She thought it was sweet that I helped her out instead of staring at her boobs (I had sunglasses on, she couldn't see my eyes ), found out she lives pretty close and got her number. Nothing better than having to call someone and say "Hey, remember me? I was holding your topless body the other day."

I've been wanting to post here for the past week but I've been getting home so late that I keep passing out the second I touch my bed. Anyways, Brett Simpson the Huntington Beach local boy won the US Open of Surfing for the second straight year. The city was going nuts again and the parties were insane. We somehow got into an invite-only premiere of some surfer's movie (I'll check the name tomorrow, I've barely slept this entire week and I'm a little f'ed up) so that was pretty sick chillin with all the surfers watching the movie.

Most of the good pictures are on my friend's camera including pics of me with Kelly Slater and another one with Ryan Nyquist (he won the BMX competition), but here's a couple crappy ones I took:

After that, I hit up Joshua Tree for the Perseid meteor shower. Nothing better than rock climbing up to the top of a huge hill in the middle of the desert and just being able to sit back and watch the sky. Took a really sick panoramic picture from the top but the image hosting says it's too big and I'm way too lazy to screw with it. Anyways, here's a pic at the top of our warm-up hill:



So yeah, that was my week. Going camping and surfing this coming week, hopefully Hawaii next weekend before school starts, and then the Sunset Strip Music Festival the weekend after.

Went to the beach for the fifth straight day and might be going again tomorrow for a sunset surf session.

Sadly, the girl I've been chasing for a bit invited me to her friend's birthday party and I couldn't go. They took a party bus up to Hollywood with VIP passes into every big club there. My grandparents are coming over at 8AM and I doubt I would have even been home by then, but definitely not awake and conscious

Beach tomorrow for the seventh straight day (all week wooooo!) before school starts in the evening. Taking third-semester calculus, differential equations, second-semester calc-based physics, and second-semester college chemistry bleh. Love math and science but it's going to be a busy semester. At least I have the Sunset Strip Music Festival and VISION'S SISTER on Saturday to look forward to, as well as an empty house for two weeks.

here's a little hint for anyone ever taking calc... you really should do what i did...

Never studied once (not even for the final)

Failed the class

BUT... Aced the AP exam and got 6 college credits (that transfered in as A's)
