Activision...
Continues to push the boundaries of evil. That's right, Bobby Kotick hasen't gotten enough money from you yet. And although he is trying hard, he also hasn't mangaged to kill the CoD franchise... yet. But don't worry, he hasn't given up yet. So what would his next brilliant idea be? Why charging for online service of course. Why let people play CoD online for Free when you could charge people? Oh yeah!
First the IW debacle, Next $15 for 5-map DLC and now this??? I haven't even played it yet but MoH is looking better and better each day.
Link - http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3180011Speaking candidly to The Wall Street Journal (via MCV),
Kotick was asked "if you could snap your fingers, and instantly make
one change in your company what would it be?"
"I would have Call of Duty be an online subscription service
tomorrow," the executive replied. "When you think about what the
audience's interests are and how you could really satisfy bigger
audiences with more inspired, creative opportunities, I would love to
see us have an online Call of Duty world. I think our players would just
have so much of a more compelling experience."

Re: Activision...
Unless he is talking about a CoD MMO, which is just FAIL. Either way it's not looking good for the CoD franchise.

Re: Activision...
Ya that's some bs, but hey look at wow it makes a killing. There's no way I'd pay an additional charge to play a game on the xbox . Cod is awsome in all but there is no way I'm paying 20 to 30 bucks a month to play just one game on any system, then where would I get the $ for the tourneys!

Re: Activision...
Yeah people would not pay for xbl and that. They would have to offer some crazy things to get the current cod fans to do that.

Re: Activision...
yes sir
with normal PC games like WoW and star trek online the fee is 15 a month. so 69.99year of gold + 15month fee(x12) + DLC (15 each) = anal r@pe
then buy there new game every other year at another $59.99
no thank you please
this will for sure end cod if its applyed to FPS
now MMO well thats a pc thing i dont think you cant really have a MMO on the xbox , and that would be a fair thing to charge 15 a month since that is what the pc people pay anyways per game per month.

Yeah it wouldn't be worth it at all. I know their competitors would want them to make that move, it would kill the COD franchise for sure!

Re: Activision...
That guy lives in a dream world. He works on a console FPS but wishes he was on an MMO. But, if they can get 1/3 of the current players to do that they will come out ahead and not miss the rest of us.

Re: Activision...
Lol man I hope this guy is talking about making a separate MMO(another fail idea but still), because I'm not paying extra to play a game I payed $59.99 plus tax for plus my Xbox Live sub plus my map packs(they were good, but still a little pricey)...I mean come on. He would probably be like "WoW only 15 bucks per months...my game is so good people will pay twice that...30 dollars per months it is" then *signs contract to destroy COD franchise*
Re: Activision...
Yeah, I really don't like Activision lately, especially Bobby Kotick. He just comes off as such a douche and I am pretty sure he is going to run the CoD franchise right into the ground. Sad really.

Re: Activision...
It is a sad day indeed just to hear they would even consider this, I know they were talks about an Action, MMO, and FPS for cod in the future but if this is for xbox count me out not even WoW is worth paying monthly to me. Activision needs to fire that douche before things get worse but since MOH is coming out and always been a fan I'll will be switching to that when it comes out.
Re: Activision...
If this really happens I think I would switch to Ghost Recon as my primary FPS rather than Medal of Honor. MoH hasn't impressed me much yet. I've always liked the Tom Clancy games.

Re: Activision...
That's a must Coolhand Ghost Recon over anyother game IMO but you got to remember it doesn't come out till next year around March, it's not in the fall anymore so you whould have to play that till then anyways. They need to announcew the GR Beta I'm still waiting for that.S7 Coolhand wrote:If this really happens I think I would switch to Ghost Recon as my primary FPS rather than Medal of Honor. Re: Activision...
Yeah I was just wondering so I know to go preorder now before it;s to late but I still have SC so if I can get in that way woot I rather go that path lol. Sucks for people that bought SC just for the beta if thats the case. There's going to be a lot of angry gamers out there requesting rufunds and what not.
