Re: new router
This is what I bought after doing my own research:
NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F0DD0I6/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Works great for me, and we typically run 3-5 video streams, and either my PC or Xbox for gaming each night.

Re: new router
The step down (AC1750 I believe) is around $100 and is solid (just less hardware power).
Might be worth considering.

I have been putting in a lot of ubiquiti access points lately and I am really digging them. They are not the most user friendly devices but deliver big time. I would assume that there routers are just as good.

Re: new router
They're just different hardware builds, which can have a big impact on stability/failure rates.
Uniquiti is definitely the 'go-to' setup if you want to spend a little extra time on setup. I've never used their stuff in-home, but a lot of my coworkers (who are veeery high level networking guys) swear by them.

Re: new router
thanks guys I think Im going to go with the nether night hawk AC1750 after reading some things on the nether website it has a bunch of smaller features that the other nether one doesn't have. The one that stuck out was when slower devices connect it knows not to give them priority and to give the priority to the faster more powerful devices.
