Horizon Zero Dawn
Just purchased this on Amazon. Anyone else picking this up? Seems to be on par with Uncharted 4 and Last of US. Got to keep myself busy till ME:A comes out.
Re: Horizon Zero Dawn
I've still got to finish U4 and I've got Division update 1.6 & Last Stand dropping tomorrow. On top of that, Wildlands will be out the following week.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn
Got my copy. I started to play some late last night but got too tired to really get into it. I will say for the few minutes I did play that it looks amazing graphically. Really looking forward to this one a lot. I'll post up some impressions in a few days and keep an eye on my stream in the evenings if you are interested in watching me play.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn
Played it for a few hours today and I'm just about to leave the first area. This feels like what FarCry Primal should have been, and so much more. Its graphically up to par with Uncharted 4 and face capturing comes back again to provide that extra detail of emotion that would be lost with other graphical technology. All in all a great start and I hope the game continues on strong to the very end.
Re: Horizon Zero Dawn
So I finally got to put in some good time over the weekend and I must say this game is awesome. I love pretty much everything about this game.
Graphics - First off, the graphics are top notch. One of the best looking games I have ever played hands down. Which is all the more impressive given the games size and scope. And despite the size, the little details are everywhere. From top to bottom the game feels polished
Game World - The game world is a nice size. It's large enough to feel grand and expansive but not too large. It also features some nice biomes with some stark contrasts like the snowy mountains where you start off or grand sweeping canyons in the desert area. The result is breathtaking scenery wherever you go.
Gameplay - This game feature some really solid combat, and some of the only grips I have for the game so far... sh1tty climbing and annoying mount issues. The combat is great. Wildly varied creatures and weapons make for some great games play. Battling robot dinos with a full arsenal of traps and bows at your disposal is a ton of fun. Each creature presents it's own challenges and weakness and you are allowed to approach it anyway you want. It's fun, fast and well done all around.
Climbing - But the climbing is annoying as sh1t. It works fine where intended but otherwise Aloy (the main character) can't climb sh1t. No creative climbing here. Either it's a set climbing path or you can climb, period. Which is a real shame in a world so beautiful and begging to be explored.
Mount - as hinted above, the Mount is also annoying. It works fine for the most part but going up or down any obstacle is a chore. The mounts clip and jump strangely and sometime just refuse to go down a small little drop. It really can slow progress. Like in a canyon area, it was faster to just run to where I was trying to go.
Overall - Great game. Too early to give an official rating but I'd give it around a 9/10 if I were to rate it today. Still need to finish out the story and whatnot before I give it a final rating but so far it's an amazing game.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn
I have watched numerous videos of the gameplay but haven't given in just yet. Looks beautiful, I'll give it that!
My take is will I really be able to put in the time that a game like this appears to demand? probably not.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn
Just finished the main story. I completed a decent amount of the side quests but once you get later into the game your way over leveled compared to the final battle. Final quest suggests a Lvl of 38. I was l 44 with 62% of the entire game completed. Great story, great visuals, and fun combat. Most combat situations provided enough variety to keep things fun and fresh throughout. This was mainly do the different mechanized animals you encountered which all have different strategies and weaknesses. The story without going into detail is refreshing. I takes on a different viewpoint for you the player, almost a dramatic irony.
Re: Horizon Zero Dawn
Yeah, I am pretty close to the end and I am loving this game. The story in particular took me by surprise. I really wasn't expecting much more than a vague reason to be running around killing robot dino's but what I got was a lot better. In fact, so far I would say it's pretty d@mn good and I'm looking forward to finishing it up this week.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn
Finished up the main story over the weekend and I am really impressed with this game from start to finish. If you have access to a PS4 I highly recommend checking this game out. Really good.
Still have a few things to collect and a few side missions to complete but I'm still looking forward to exploring the last few location I haven't been to.
