Re: BF1 OPEN beta
Seems like people who got on a little earlier could be on and and play all night. Kenny was on playing while I was stuck trying to sign in to EA's servers. I tried for a while and gave up for the night. I hope it will be smoother tonight.

Re: BF1 OPEN beta
We realized that if you go to browse server and then press y to filter to "North America" on your region, then view servers, it'll show the best ones. You might have to click on the right thumbtack a few times to refresh the server list. Now don't try to join the ones that say 0/24 or 0/64 or even the ones that are 1/64. It'll usually kick you. Look for 18/64 or something and jump in. You might hit a small queuing but it normally doesn't last too long. I was able to play all night last night, not waiting more than 3-7 minutes in between.
I haven't got the quick matchmaking to work at all yet.

I did literally exactly this. I assume the empty servers are broken (or some part of the connection is), and matchmaking probably sorts you into those empty servers.
Unfortunately with frequent refreshes I only saw servers that were full, or 'had' 1-2 spots open, never any partially full ones regardless of how I sorted/filtered.
Regardless, pretty absurd amount of work to put in to connecting to servers. I -hope- they'll fix whatever issue is happening with joining empty servers/using matchmaking.

Re: BF1 OPEN beta
Ya it was bad but I read the Ea servers were ddos attacked and that brought a lot of the Ea even non battlefield servers down. I'll try again tonight as well.

So, same sh1t, different game? I'm really curious to see how this game plays out. Had a ton of fun playing B4, but I didn't have a lot of the issues because I got my PS4 in like February of 2014 so it had been out for a while and a lot of the issues were fixed, somewhat.

Re: BF1 OPEN beta
Yes I was able to get into games no problem yesterday. I hope now that it's running smoother they open a new map. The game is very much a typical battle field game. Not a bad thing but I wish it had a bit more different.

Re: BF1 OPEN beta
After tons and tons of attempts, finally got to play about 90% of a game last night until I got disconnected from the EA servers, which then somehow made my Xbox freeze. For the little bit I played, it felt amazing. I'm not a huge fan of the changes to conquest, forcing users to hit a medic button to ask for revive, and the start menu is awful, but everything else was great. Hopefully I can play a full game tonight!
Went from a pre-order to a wait-and-see after the server issues (still zero confidence in EA after the BF4 launch debacle), but still excited to play it.

You're not forced to hit anything, requesting help makes it more noticeable, which honestly was needed cause it can get hard to tell people apart.

Re: BF1 OPEN beta
I was pleasantly surprised last night. Got into games with matchmaking within 5-10 seconds, manually finding servers worked great, all games were fun. Will play more and see how I like the feel of it.
