This looks to be another good beginners guid from the same site.

If you didn't preorder, the Xbox group is playing the ebonheart pact, which is native Nord, Dunmar (dark elf), and Argonian.

If i preordered i can be ebonheart pact and any race i want correct?

Yes, with the explorers pack.

I don't think it matter really, i want to be a dark elf and its in ebonheart anyways,

Me too. I was looking at nord or dark elf, so I would be covered. I might do a red guard Templar to, so that would need the option.

Dark elf for the win.

I mean who wants to be a dragon when there are dragon borns running around yelling at them all the time. lol not me.

The "starter island"  is a good way to start out as mentioned in the above guides. I hahad trouble finding it, but there is a npc labeled as "boatswain" in the harbor areas (for each faction) that take you to the starting islands. That person has a different name, and the boatswain is the class/subtitle.

I didn't even know about this till my 2dn character. No idea why you don't actually start out on the "starting island" but it's a great place to go ASAP. Level up and do all the quests there first. Also, there are 3 Skyshards on each starting island so be sure to look for all 3 and get that extra ability point.
