Dark souls

Has anyone had any experience with this game? If so, im interested to hear your opinion.
Critically Acclaimed game, I'm just not sure I wont be bored by it. Seems VERY slow. I'm okay with hack and slash games (Devil may cry, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden etc) but the ones I have played are usually pretty quick.

It's more like playing Oblivion or Skyrim on hardcore mode. You'll die a lot, get stuck a lot, and struggle through some difficult parts of the game. I would not go in expecting to blow through things.

That being said, everyone I know that has invested a decent amount of time (20+ hours) has really enjoyed it

I enjoyed Skyrim and Dragon Age, to a point. Beat both and put in a decent amount of hours, but once the story is done, I cant get myself to keep ambling around the game.

I will give souls a try, now that it is out on XboxOne. Looks like I will be busy.

Amazing game(s) and I am a huge fan.  It's very different from most anything you have played and it usually takes people a while for the game to "click".  Put some serious time and give it an honest shot and you'll probably walk away loving the series. 

Feel free to ask anything and I'll help all I can.  It's a deep game and explains almost nothing.
