Xbox One Headset
Ok so im getting my xbox 1 in two weeks. Pre-ordered the sunset overdrive bundle. I think the game looks very legit. I will be getting destiny to join you guys as well. My question is what headsets are essention the best option price wise. Last time i had the triton headsets cant remember the model number but they were the ones with the base to connect to it with surround sound and all. Since then my brother has taken them away, now wiht my xbox 1 coming i was wondering what set i should get. I am considering getting the A50s head sets but now sure if there is a better option for less price or a similiar option with of course a lesser price tag than that of 300 bucks. and and all options welcomed. Thanks guys.

Yeah its I get the white one. The game to me looks fun. I would of done the call of duty bundle but I don't play call of duty and incase I run out of hard drive space I can buy a external hard drive later on. Either way it's a free game I was looking to buy it anyways. So this way I save the 60 bucks and get the white systemS7 K1ll3rKlown wrote:Sunset overdrive bundle?

x3.
Otherwise just get the headset adapter and use any of the other headsets. You can buy the cheap $20-$30 PC ones that use a single plug and they will work fine.

x4. If I was in the market for another headset I would definitely go with these. I still use my XP500 which is what it is based on.

I'll most likely be getting some 500x's also but I'll wait until I hear/see reviews. I already have the XO7's so they are passable, but it would be nice to have a serious set of headphones.

Wish I had the money for these. What are some of the better cheap of headsets Matt? Might have to look into that option.

Re: Xbox One Headset
Looked at the Logitech g230 online last night it's only $30.99 on Amazon. They have to 3.5 mm cords out one for audio one for the mic. I have a y cord joined that I used with my old headset and could use with these into the controler adaptor right? How do I hear game audio? Also I have an Astro mix amp from my old setup could I still use it with this headset on the Xbox one to get better game audio?

Re: Xbox One Headset
The game audio and chat audio comes out of the adapter and its the standard headphone jack. Any headset that has a mic will work with the adapter even you iphone headset. Rhe prob with the sound is that its "powered" by the controller and its really not that load or great. With your amp it will sound better though. I have the polk xb1 headset and adapter; but I've used other headsets. The polk sound bad ass when using an iphone but just ok when using them on the xb1. Your going to just get ok sound from the xb1 using the controller output, unless you use a headset amp. The best solution is the above headset or using your old xbox 360 rig with the adapter. You can also buy a $30 boom mic that will turn any headset that has a detachable cord into a gameing headset. So if you want buy a great headset for listening to music + the boom mic +the adapter and your good to go, but prob will not sound as great as a setup that doesn't use the controller as the sound source unless the headset is powered or you have an amp

Re: Xbox One Headset
Ok that's what I was thinking. I think I am going to get the Logitech g230 headset and the stereo headset adaptor. Even if the mixamp doesn't work well it will still be better than the stock headset.

Re: Xbox One Headset
I'm probably going for the XB1 Edition A50s. I owned a pair of A30s for the 360, which I really enjoyed. I'm still waiting to see a review of the TB Stealth 500x but I'm pretty sure I'm going A50 in time for COD and Halo: MCC.

Re: Xbox One Headset
So far so good. They have a nice sound, and I'm not even complete with the burn-in yet. I put on the new Pink Floyd and got a good feel for their soundstage and it was nice. They may not be as good as my Sennhisers, but they are very good, particularly for wireless headphones. I haven't' had any popping, static, or any interference that I can tell, and the S/N is pretty good but still noticeable when you power them off.
The different sound modes are a nice addition (I didn't have them on the 41's) but don't seem to make it better to hear the enemy footsteps as I just don't think the footsteps carry in this COD. I can hear the gunshots and pinpoint the exo boosts, so that is great.
I'm also on day 3 of not charging them, as I'm trying to see how long they really last. So far I'm probably around 10 hours. One complaint I was reading online is that they are not loud enough at full volume, but for me I couldn't ever play at full volume. They don't necessarily hurt your ears on max, but it isn't playable at that volume.
The only bad thing about them is they can be turned off when they are on the charger (at least I can't figure out how to turn them off) and the Xbox is on. Not really a big deal, but I should be able to turn them off when I'm watching TV and they are charging up. It might have to do with them being plugged into the Xbox USB port, but I don't know why that would matter. Also, the initial install with the updates to the firmware is a bit of a hassle, and you can't just use them "out of the box." I did find some good sound mode programs for them when doing that, but I mainly use the default "optimized" setting anyhow.
So far so good with the first week in. I'll update more later.

Can you hook them straight up to an mp3 player and use them for travel? Do you have to charge them via usb or can you put fresh batteries in?

USB charge only, with now swappable batteries. That is a big negative in my eyes, but I understood that going in so I'll live with it (thus the battery test).
Yes, you can use them with a MP3 player or phone, with the included cable. The cable will even allow you to use it to take and receive phone calls, but I haven't tried that out.

My big thing is the weight. My XO Sevens are kinda heavy on my ears compared to my old X41's. I can't game for hours on hours without having to take them off in between matches.

Re: Xbox One Headset
I saw a review online saying the mic won't work on PC. Can you confirm if the audio works on PC? If so I imagine that (at the least) you'll need to connect it via USB.
