Scholes ftmfw, right after signing a new contract. Spurs beat Chelsea, I'm loving it! We still got a d@mn good shot, only Stoke, Sunderland, and Spurs left on our schedule while Chelsea has to play Liverpool FAO Tico Icon_cheers

I was gonna post this exact same thread but I passed out like 30 seconds after the game ended and just now woke up at 2:30PM lol

Btw did you catch Maicon's goal in the Inter v Juvie game?

Haha it was an alright game. Glad ManU came out on top.

Also, Newcastle should be pack in the Premiership next year!

it ruined my day to be honest.

watching that go on with 17 seconds of injury time left, broke my heart.

so now we have given up the last champions league spot. i was expecting at least a tie from chelsea, but they couldn't do it.

so our only hope really is for united to beat spurs, and for us to beat arsenal and then beat spurs at city of manchester stadium.

I didn't actually watch the game, a friend sent me the link. I only watch Premiership and Champions League, though I actually watched the MLS opener between the Sounders and the Union out of boredom and it was somewhat entertaining.

I see.

Was a good goal. Nothing THAT special though.

Was hardly this...

Just to clarify though. I hate Joe Cole.

d@mn i didn't say it's the greatest goal of all time, I just said it was a good one. I still think Cole's is better than that Roberto Carlos goal though.

Lol nah. A volley from there is sweet but there's one similar to it every week.

The Carlos goal was just bad goalkeeping.

It was a lobbed volley, right into the top corner...from a long way out. That type of goal definitely does not get scored every week.

Lol roberto carlos goal was a volley too, here's a breakdown video. Mostly lame but has a few good slowdowns on it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwRYYeEk5Eg

And there's always a volley from 30+ yards out into upper 90 on Fox between SA, Euro, and Asia.

roberto carlos free kick bending goal is the one i dont see a comparison to.

volleyed goals are beautiful. he has plenty of those. but i agree, you see one on fox soccer report, or any nightly show at least two or three times a week.

but what roberto carlos did against france was sublime.

That Maicon goal had 3 juggles before the volley from outside the 18. That was pretty sweet and one of the best I've seen this year. The JoeColegoal was ugly - lucky he hit it on target, and the keep shoulda saved that - you get a paw on it you should save that sh1t. Not sure that Roberto Carlos was actually shooting his - may have been a cross he hit a little strange, but it worked thanks to another keeper mistake - should have been caught with ease.

I always think of a great goal as one you mean to score. That just looked like an f'ed up cross to me.

Amazing footwork/legwork by Maicon showed there, perfect bounce off the thigh to give a setup for the kick to upper ninety while the goalie was distracted. Btw the video is not in Italian, it is in Finnish, just noticed this because I'm from Finland and speak Finnish. Now you all know what Finnish sounds like.

Mm I don't know. With how ridiculous Carlos is at curving the ball it's hard to say, he definitely intentionally bent it toward the goal.

not alot of people can strike the ball at the precise spot with the outside of the boot like RC can.

Could, not can (anymore). The fact that the keeper couldn't see the shot coming was the only reason that FK went in though.

the kick to upper ninety

Or as the rest of the world know it, 'a shot in the top corner'. You Americans....

Upper 90 sounds way better. And that is the point of a freekick, tricking the keeper. FAO Tico Icon_lol
