I've gotta watch the 2nd one on Blu-Ray.  Bought it when it came out and just haven't had a chance with the kiddo to get to it.

Looks good...
The Desolation of Smaug wasn't that great. Unfortunately it just seemed sort of "rushed". For whatever reason I just wasn't into it like all the others. I'll watch it again, maybe it was just me.

My first Tolkien experience was The Hobbit in its crappy cartoon movie form. Then I read the book and was swept away. The movies have not disappointed me at all. Some things added, some things taken. Its a movie adaptation to a childhood favorite. I loved it.
