Dayz on steam

has any one looked into this mode on steam its amazing every one should youtbube videos on dayz


its a open world game on steam of the game arma 2 first person and 3rd person view looting customing guns clothing etc


first video just kinda shows the basics about the game the second is a group of guys planing a trap on bandits , the videos are kinda long but you can always just skip ahead

Read about his on CAD. Evidently there is a "real death" where you get reset to nothing upon dying, which means the survival aspect is that much more important. I would totally check this out if I had a decent PC.

I have a couple friends that play it all the time. How much does it cost?

ArmA 2 is about $20, I think.

You have to buy Arma 2 and the Operation Arrow Head expansion pack to play Dayz currently $23.99 on steam the last time I checked. I have been playing Dayz for a good 2 months now and its a great mod.

they have a bundled now so its really not that much i want to play this but i dont want to play alone and yeah once you die , you die

I hear Arma 2 is kinda mediocre, but this mod (made by only one person) makes it worth buying. I hope to play something similar someday, and who knows, maybe this will trigger a big company to poor some cash into making a similar one even more badass. I want to get a team going , but thats just me and they are the people from mw2 who left are making a game but its not due to come out for 2 years...

Arma 3 has already stated they will be making a Dayz game mode in the next release. They personally thanked the Dayz creator for all the revenue they have been getting and hope to make it a huge part of the next Arma installment.

Personally thanked, I imagine I'd want to be personally thanked with a job or cash for boosting their sales and making a game mode they'll be implementing in their next version.

I was reading up on this a bit and it seems like a really fun game to play. I should probably get this sometime, or wait for arma3 Dayz.

wait didnt arma 2 just come out if so we should wait for the beta for that because our clan in this game would epic

arma 2 released in 2009, and the expansion in 2010 (i think). So that has been out for awhile, unless you were referring to Dayz... which released in the beginning of 2012. I've been watching more videos on this, and they make me want to buy the game even more. The whole open-worldness, hearing shots from other players in the distance, spotting other players and deciding whether to risk letting them live in the hope they won't kill you or straight out killing them for their loot. Food, water, infection, etc. It's all very interesting.

He was already an employee, he worked on it as a hobby. Developing the mod is now his full-time position.

I ended up buying Arma2. It has a sale rigt now that ends tomorrow I think. $18.

what beta are you talking about exactly?

Just an FYI, they're releasing DayZ as a standalone game in September.

This game is actually quite freaky especially when you choose to join a server that's using the times 11pm-2am. It practically pitch black. I could barely make out the trees that were right in front of me and the only thing I could see was a fire off in the distance. I didn't stick around long because I just started out and you start with no inventory pretty much, so I joined a server where there was daylight. It's a bit crazy because zombies will hear you [normal] crouch walking from a good distance, so you basically have to slow crouch walk (which doesn't give off any noise for zombies to hear) near settlements until you can find some guns and ammo to defend yourself. I haven't been able to play it too much yet because my internet completely stopped working at home this weekend, and it's (hopefully) going to be fixed sometime today.

Awesome. Looks like I'll have to pick that up...

Although Halo 4 will launch, and that might be the end of any other games for me.
