Valve Support Confirms the Steam Summer Sale 2013 starts tomorrow (July 11th) - Finally!

Time to get some awesome games for no monies!

Yeah I have already bought some stuff in the Steam summer sales. This is also interesting its only for digital copies though.

Not sure if this was a result of the Steam Summer Sale, but I bought Infestation (aka War Z) for about $7, which was about half off it's original price. It's a fun game to play with friends.

I was initially unsure about getting the game due to bad feedback I've seen, but I'm having fun playing the game with my friends, so that's a good $7 spent for me.  Already had a ton of crazy and funny experiences.  So yeah, it was just $7... it's not like I'm paying $60/year for the same mediocre game *cough*cod*cough* excuse me.

Recently bought Chivalry: Medeival Warfare, Civilization V, and Kerbal Space Program.  Been playing Chivalry, and it's kind of addicting.   I honestly didn't think it would be that fun a game, but I guess there's just something about lobbing off your enemies' limbs that's appealing.

I snagged Civ 5: Gold Edition

I also picked up the gold edition as a sort of impulse purchase this morning.  Was pretty much going back and forth in my head "it's cheap and you wanted to play it, get it" and "you have other games and FF14 is around the corner, don't get it".  Basically whenever that happens... I end up buying the game.  Have you had a chance to play Civilization V yet?  If so, how is it?  I think the only time I played it was on the 360 demo which was pretty d@mn short to experience anything.

My brother has been playing it a lot. He says it's epic. We've played all the Civ games together. He says this one is a blast if you're combat oriented. If you try to win by anything other than conquest or end game timer you're pretty much SOL.

I'll be on steam tonight, we would have 4 people to play which would be pretty epic.

Yeah, this is my first Civilization game.  I have no idea what I should start with, but I guess it really depends on whether you want to be a warmonger or a peacekeeper or whatever.

Yeah, don't worry about BS like build orders or strategy. Just play the game and have fun.
My next gameplan: Start out as germanic tribes, eventually raise a highly religious nation of Jewish people and have them set out on world domination. Little WW2 reversal. lol

Yeah, I met an opposing force and I told him to give me 10 gold, he said no.
I told him to give me 1 gold, he said no.
I said to hell with you, time for war.  He said psssh fine.
I also said I'd denounce his name to the world and he said pssh fine.
He turned around and did the same to me.
After a few turns of nothing happening, he wanted peace between us. I said ok.
Next turn he marches troops into my land and I was like DAHFAQ YOU DOIN!!?!?! and went back to war.


It was entertaining.

 That's a little late for me Sunday through Thursday because I'm usually in bed by 11pm central.  From what I've seen, games tend to last more than an hour.  I'd be much more likely to play a game during the weekend.

Cool, I think I have this game figured out now.  Not sure how I can go about winning other than by military force, have an idea on how to do it, but not effectively. 

Also, AI's are assholes.  I was 'friends' with this one faction for the longest time and I accepted all trades and demands.  One day, she requests to open borders.  I say ok and I soon see a large miltary force gathering at out borders.  I was a bit wary, but went with it.  Then she declared war on me, and marched tons of troops into my land when I only has 2 warriors and an archer.  Was able to hold her back and then proceeded to build up my own military, which took control of her capital and two other cities... stupid b1tch.  She has one city left and she gives me everything she has to 'keep the peace' when I demand it.  She won't be around much longer.
