Spawn camping on our server

I added in a message in the server description earlier today to not excessively spawn camp. I do not care what anyone does on other servers but on our own I would like everyone to not base r@pe if they get trapped. I am not saying it is completely off limits or anything but constantly hoovering over a spawn in a heli and killing everyone as they spawn should be frowned upon. Earlier we had four ass hats that insisted on base camping when it was only four on four and we had two randoms on our side. It was stupid and uncalled for and I even asked nicely for them to retreat and not get carried away. Ended up banning the lot of them and hate mail ensued :p

Anyway's I know we tend to r@pe when we are all on the server. All I ask is that we play "nice" at least to some extent.

This is what probably prompted the post.

on infantry maps it is not as much an issue as you can break the camp easier. on vehicle maps it does become an issue

If you have a good team, its not too hard to go from being spawn camped at metro, to pushing them back to theirs. It just takes one person to make a run for it.

Very true, but if you don't have that good person that can sneak by you can get stuck at A and spend all game getting slaughtered. Once the campers get set up in those buildings and the rest camp the walls and such, you have to cross that huge open field from the spawn to A and it can be like shooting fish in a barrel.

A single person with 320 smoke can turn that killing field into something more bearable. I highly suggest some of you give the smoke launcher a try. Not as part of your regular kit but at least give it a try. You will be surprised how helpful it can be in breaking the LOS of the enemy, proving a clear run for an assault team. You can use it at close range to directly cover yourself and the squad or a better method I use is to actually fire it directly at the enemy (the buildings overlooking A flag on metro for example). Firing it at enemy positions gives the benefit of not only covering your own advance but every other person on your team that is also advancing.

Good to know. I don't think I have the 320 unlocked yet so I'll have to try that out once I get it. It's an engineer weapon, right? I used to play engineer all the time until I unlocked the M16 and defibrillator and not I pretty much run assault, unless I'm playing with vehicles.
