Re: SC2 heart of the swarm
Its great and all that they are continuing the story line but come on I have already lost interest in SC2. How about not taking 1 year to add the second installment of 3 parts.

Except their fan base is so huge and dedicated that they could take 3 years for each part and the game would still be thriving.
Looks pretty interesting, the new units will be refreshing. The zerg unit with a grapple hook style pulling mechanism? Ugh, I can already tell that will be a pain to deal with.

Re: SC2 heart of the swarm
So I'm going to ask the dumb question(s). Is this like a DLC or is it a completely different disk that will cost us another $60?
Re: SC2 heart of the swarm
so be an expiation so another disc
and i think this came out fast only been a year were as WOW player have waited 3 years for one of there expiation to come out.
also its not bad considering Blizzard is working on 3 major title at once

The multi-player is constantly evolving and has a great community - Personally, I find it to be the best multiplayer on the market right now (not to mention the custom games). Even when CS:GO drops, I'll probably still play SC2 a lot.
Be nice to see some of you guys online....

Re: SC2 heart of the swarm
I have the game but I just couldn't get into it like I did in college. I played the hell out of SC and Brood Wars but I just can't seem to get into SC2. I used to love playing all of those strat games and I just think that my interests have changed too much for me to really enjoy and get into them anymore, which is sad because even though I usually got slaughtered I still loved playing them.

When I played SC/Brood Wars I used to play Protoss so that I could build carriers and take control of terran cruisers and then I'd use my aerial forces to stomp on kids. It was a slow, grinding process and usually I could run it like once in a group before I was figured out and shut down. It was great fun to roll around with like 7 or 8 fully stocked carriers escorted by like the same number of fully upgraded cruisers.
For SC2 I haven't played any MP because I'm out of practice and couldn't get back into the game. I didn't want to jump into some MP and just get stomped because I haven't played in forever so I never gave it a try with SC2.

You should give it a try. It's easily the best element of it and you'll automatically get placed in a league to match your skill level. The MP systems makes it so that you win around 50% of your matches. Or if you want, just let me know if you want to play some time and I can help you get into the swing.

Re: SC2 heart of the swarm
I might try and do that some this summer. My biggest issue is trying to balance work, family, and video games. It's usually easier for me to play not PC games, but I might as well try to get back into it since I've already spent the money on the game.

It's a very rewarding game to play, besides, if you're gonna get HOTS too, then it won't hurt to be half-decent at SC2.

Not sure if I'll get HOTS, but you're right that I should get back into SC2.

Also, it'll be a game that you can probably beat Sticky at.

w00t! Promoted to gold league on my NA account today! It's weird switching between EU and NA servers as the play styles are pretty different.

More cheese tactics?
SC2 is a pretty fun game. I've been playing custom games more often because I've started to lose my touch when it comes to regular matches. It's neat to see what can be done with the map editor. Marine Arena and Nexus Wars are two of my favorites, and I recently played on a map called Bomberbot, which is basically Bomberman on SC2, so that was fun as well. I'll probably end up buying Heart of the Swarm.

Re: SC2 heart of the swarm
Nah, I play properly. If the ladder system is being a dick and giving me PvP every game, I'll occasionally cannon rush...on certain maps.
Ladder can be so gay sometimes. Like 5 straight PvP on the nice, new, balanced maps. Then I get a freakin\' PvZ on Metalopolis, so that's pretty much auto lose if you can't put some decent pressure on early.

Re: SC2 heart of the swarm
Aren't you able to suggest maps that you'd rather play or not play on when choosing to do ladder matches? Or do you still end up with the unbalanced maps?

You can veto 3 maps. I think there are about 10/11 maps in the pool right now and the 3 I currently veto, I dislike more than Metalopolis.
