Question about Kill Confirmed

I've been thinking about Kill Confirmed, and had a question. So you have these perks for your weapons, and you need kills to unlock them. So say you need 50 kills to unlock the ACOG, what counts in Kill Confirmed? Does each time you shoot someone and they drop tags count? Or do you have to collect the tags? What if you collect tags from someone who was shot by someone else? Do those count? What if someone collects the tags from someone you shot? Humm...

I'm pretty sure that the "kills" only count for a kill that your team picks up the tags for. You get like 50pts for the kill when you make the kill and 50pts when the kill is confirmed. If the kill is denied, I think you get credit for an assist, but I'm not sure. Also, I think if you pick up the tags from a kill made by one of your teammates, I think you get an assist also. I haven't looked to closely at this but I'm trying to make an educated guess from my own playing. I don't get a ton of kills so it's not so difficult to track where my kills/assists/points come from.

I'm fairly sure that the kills and deaths both add to your career, regardless of if the kill is confirmed or not.

So with some checking last night, every kill you make, whether you collect the tags or not, registers as a kill for you kill streaks and unlocks. Only the collected tags count as "points" for wining the game.

When you kill someone, it counts as a normal kill would and you get xp for it. In order for your team to score, you need to collect the dog tags. Dog tag collection adds to your match bonus. I usually just kill people because you have that one idiot on your team that only collects them thinking he gets a ton of points when in reality you really only get points for the kill. This mode was made to eliminate camping on TDM and especially HCTDM. It requires the person to leave their spot to confirm their kill in order to get a better match bonus and in order to add points to their teams score. So yes it adds to your stats regardless if you get the dog tag or not.

Which is the reason why I'll play this mode and I still hate TDM. Kill Confirmed gives TDM an objective, which all the loner campers hate, so they tend not to play it, at least that's what I've seen so far.
