Mustang Fans rejoice for the 50th anniversary!!!
Since I'm the only one here that will admit they love Mustangs (never mind that Ford has sold more Mustangs than Chevy sells Camaro or Dodge sells Chargers...somebody else loves them too ), I'll just pass this along to you "undercover 'Stang lovers"...LOL
Mustang fans, there appears to be a new kid on the block. Ok it's actually and "old" new kid...
Ford will bring back the older '64-'68 body styles with updated 6 speed manual power plants, 3.73 rear axle gear ratio, and interior. The plan is to make the "old" new again for those that enjoy the classics but can't get your hands on one from the local junkyard. The cost is $15,000 for just the body (DynaCorn International in Tx.) and after the complete body work you're looking at $38k-40k-- about the same as the 2011-2012 GT cost now.
I'm personally impressed! (Matte orange wouldn't be my color choice however)
These are pictures taken from the unveiling at the 2011 SEMA show last week in Vegas:

I'm sorry. Do you have any more shots of the car? I am having trouble getting a feel for it with the few pics you posted. Thanks.

Yea, I'm just giving you a hard time. I love Mustangs too (besided the 80's fox body ) and that throwback kit looks nice. But for the money I would take a new one, or truely go and get a classic model.

It's nice that you Pony fanboys paint your cars like Chargers!

So now orange and black is only used by Chargers? So nothing else can be orange and black or they are trying to look like a charger? So Dodge holds the patten on those two color combinations and if I paint an '88 Nissan orange and black I'm trying to look like a charger?S7 SockPuppet wrote:It's nice that you Pony fanboys paint your cars like Chargers!
LOL just giving you a hard time. Dude Ford and the Mustang community want NOTHING to do with looking like a charger.
Now Charger wanting the prestige and to look like a Mustang...well

That is pretty sweet - a good option for those dealing with the scarcity of the actual classic bodies.

Yep, Orange and Black are totally a trademark look of the Charger. Also painting one orange and putting a rebel flag on top is a bit of a no no.
On a serious note that car does look nice but like Miller, I think I would go for a cherry original or an '09. (Not a big fan of the '10-'11 as I don't like the backend)

Re: Mustang Fans rejoice for the 50th anniversary!!!
yep, and I saw what you said Miller about "just finding the original" but that would take hard work and lots of money.
Now you too can own an "Elenor" without some prick charging you $350,000- $1 Million at an auction for a car that when produced was $15,000 (that's why Ford went back to that price for the body kit)

It's probably not Epic.
Remember this is being opened from all angles for pics and discussion at this unveiling so that's not a big deal.
It's not that the sheet metal doesn't properly align, I can assure you.

Hmmm, kinda spoilts the pics for me because I'm a perfectionist. I love the matte paintjob though except maybe the hood detailing.

Re: Mustang Fans rejoice for the 50th anniversary!!!
The trunk not being fully seated is a small thing...not a deal breaker. If that spoils the whole picture thing for you, so be it. It's like asking why a model in Playboy has a few hairs out of place... Who gives a fat Romanian F&^k!!!
I like it and am seriously considering another project car.
I'd buy a $15,000 '68 Fastback like Steve McQueen and over the next few years create my dream ride with the interior, engine, etc. I want it to have. Every man needs a hobby... it can't be Modern Warfare on XBOX forever.....

Well, it's like seeing The Sistine Chapel, only with somebody having whitewashed part of it.

It's too bad there aren't any shots of it beating Camaros or Chargers at the track. It does look more retro than any other car makers attempt to bring back the muscle car.
