Pretty rough. Shooting innocent people in an airport is one thing, blowing up little children a little different. However, these kinds of things happen in RL so why shouldn't a game that's depicting terrorists and their plots/attacks mimic those kinds of things?

Cause normally the depiction of children dying (getting killed) is a big no-no in the video game industry.

I agree and that's understandable but how is that any different from the same thing happening in an R rated movie? The player doesn't appear to be the one doing the killing, rather it's a cutscene, which in all intents is a movie.

Not too far from real life. I don't get it, people say the games aren't realistic enough sometimes, then they say "too much"...which is it?

It's a game, nothing different than a movie or reading a book where an explosion happens. There was no real little girl there and no one died...again, it's just a scene from a game.

Yup, just makes the game more authentic, the closer to RL it gets.

Games already get bashed by the nut-jobs for making kids violent, so game companies have kept the kid characters out of games to lessen the impact of a media sh!tstorm. Too much bad press means mommy doesn't buy the game for little Timmy at Christmas. COD is so big now, they will not notice a slip in sales and can risk it.

And according to Time Magazine (10/31) there's tons of real stuff their military consultants point out to the design teams that doesn't get into the games, for one reason or another.

That is the real problem. We have the luxury of rarely being attacked - it is not part of our national psyche as those that live in war-torn countries that have experienced constant violence for many years. So we squirm at kids dying compared to kids who grow up seeing other kids die every day. The death of innocents is real - unwanted but real.

sadly attacks like these happen alot more then any of use would like...

i would say if the game is based on anti terrorism then they should be able to show everything that happens in a war like this.. its not pretty but it does happen. and even more of any eye opener to people who dont support are troops... are troops had to go over and see sh1t like this all the time ... just so people like me and you wouldn't have to turn on are local news and see it happen in are own back yard...

Well if it's happening in my backyard someone is in trouble.
AirCav lives about 30-45 mins away so once I've fully equipped this bunker I'm building we could secure this area pretty d@mn quick.
