Optional Hi-Res Textures Pack for the 360 (and PS3)

I'm not a fan of the battlefield series but that is pretty awesome that they are offering that.

I have 2 questions though;

1. Is it free?

2. why not just ship the game that way in the first place?

How much space did Rage take up Miller?

I only installed the first disc so far, and I don't really remember how much space it was. I'm thinking it was like 8 gig. It's something like 22 for the entire game install.

Idk how reliable this source is; however, it looks like the Hi-res install will take 1.5 gb.

This is badass! Going to make a good game even better right off the bat!. Hope there is no hidden fee though, I know it says all you have to "pony up" is the HDD space, but EA is about as greedy and heartless as Activision.

This combined with the Amazon pre-order deal are making this game very appealing. $20 in Amazon credit and a free hi-res textures DLC will make for a very pretty new toy!

Does anyone know if you can DL this before the game drops or do you have to wait till tomorrow and/or until you get your copy? I wouldn't mind getting this out of the way so that it doesn't take up time that I could be playing.

I think it's on disk 2. Not DLC. You have to install to get the hi res textures.
