Steve Jobs 1955 - 2011
It's a rare thing to share a time frame history with a great innovator, creator, and leader. Personally, I feel that he was the Ben Franklin and Thomas Edison of our time. Wired has a great tribute to an extraordinary individual. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

True, we lost one great mind! Genius does him little justice when you think about the stuff he's had a hand in creating or out right creating himself...Pixar for Disney, the original PC, the mouse, GUI, the ipod, ipad, iphone, (older version) macintosh (today) Mac, first to have phone calls w/video ...the list goes on and on. One seriously smart dude.
Rest in Peace Steve...I only hope to leave half the footprint on society you did.
Infact, I'd be happy with just the little toe compared to his lives accomplishments.

Re: Steve Jobs 1955 - 2011
I'm somewhat distraught. Never felt this way about the death of a celebrity.
When I heard, I felt that I should do something for charity but I realised that it wouldn't bring him back. Instead, I will try to honour him by accepting nothing less than excellence in my work, just has he did.
An inspiration, a visionary and an innovator. He will be sorely missed, yet, his legacy shall know no end.

It is a loss to this wold and this tech world. He helped propel the world in tech to where it is at. If it wasnt for jobs iphone we woudlnt have android pushing as hard as it is, windows moving forward. He will be missed. I hope he left a few golden eggs behind before his passing that will make his legacy just grow even more from beyond the grave.

I think his legacy of customer focus, high standards and innovation will help motivate millions to pursue the same goals.

Pretty sure that I could not begin to do the man justice with what he has accomplished in his life. Truly amazing and visionary individual. Rest in peace.

Re: Steve Jobs 1955 - 2011
CUPERTINO, CA—Steve Jobs, the visionary co-founder of Apple Computers and the only American in the country who had any clue what the f#ck he was doing, died Wednesday at the age of 56. "We haven't just lost a great innovator, leader, and businessman, we've literally lost the only person in this country who actually had his sh1t together and knew what the hell was going on,"
From the onion and I'll have to agree, I wish every company put as much passion, creativity, and quality into their products, as he and his apple team does.

While I've never been a fan of who he was as a person it is sad to such a big Player in the tech industry pass away. Without him I doubt we would have achieved as much as we have today.

I thank him for all the technological marvels he created, and hope Apple continues to be a successful company in his absence.
Re: Steve Jobs 1955 - 2011
Well, the Apple employees are doing a "celebration of life" for Steve and I found a few words written/spoken by Steve during a commencement ceremony for Stanford that I think say it all:
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
