Game choice help

Ok, so in a couple of weeks me and a group of friends are throwing down some bets and setting an entire day aside to see who can speedrun through a game the fastest.
We're not choosing the game until last minute so no one googles it and practices.

What I need from all of you are some suggestions on what game to do.

My thoughts so far are Portal, Mirrors Edge, Prey, Oblivion (not sure how long it takes just rushing through main quest, could be broken in half), Zelda (again just a regular person rushing through),
Left 4 Dead, CoD4, Halo: CE.

If anyone knows how long Oblivion takes just rushing through the main quest only on easy let me know. Also, any games you can think of post up here.

Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, old skewl with KOTOR or KOTOR 2, and there's always L.A. Noire (j/k).

New Games? Dark Souls

Old Games? Super Mario Bros

Odd Games? Oddworld, Abe's Odyssey

And whatever game we play will be done in 1 day, 1 sitting. So under 10 hours is preferable. How long does dark souls take?

I don't think you could ever finish that in a day. I would pick something you like, and that has at least one challanging part in it that could hang someone up. Then if anyone is behind at one time, you know there is still that one difficult hurdle left where you could gain some time.

What about Halo? The Library is nothing to look forward to.

Otherwise I would go old school with Ghost's n Goblins

Speed runners will be able to do it for in a few hours... eventually. But right now it would probably be impossible to beat quickly.

For example: It took me over one week of solid playing to beat the first level of Demon's Souls. Then I watched a speed runner do it ion less than 10 mins, including the boss fight!

I'd choose Left 4 Dead.
Left 4 Dead on Easy will take about 2 hours.
Speedrun Oblivion, I lol at the very thought.

Kameo

I think we're actually all leaning towards Oblivion. I've done it under 10 hours a couple times without rushing, just by sticking to the main quest.

Halo, Kameo, and Left 4 Dead would be interesting. Especially since I think none of us have played Kameo.

I like the idea of a Speedrun of Mirror's edge. It would be a 4 hour or less speedrun though. If you're looking for something longer I'd definitely would suggest a Zelda game.

Even a speedrun of the Original Resident Evil or one of it's many sequels would be fun.

Yeah, we're probably going to make it a monthly thing. Once I get setup in the new house I'll probably be doing a live stream of the leaders and have a webcam of the house up.
