Forza Challenge League - FCL -

Okay! This is going to be the official place for everything regarding the Forza Challenge League (FCL). Here is a breakdown of what the league is:

• FCL is a way to give every racer a rating. Similar to how SC2, Chess, Halo, etc rate players.
  
  
• Default Rating is 1200
  
• Challenges can be between as many people as you want!
  
• Beating someone rated higher gives more points. Beating someone lower gives less.
  
• There will be seasons. At the end of each season stats reset! Records will be kept for previous seasons but this keeps things fresh for everyone.

It's simple. Just make a post in this thread that is in the following format:

• Challenge! (creative addition to title)
  
• Me vs someone vs someone vs someone vs someone
  
• Car / class Specificiations
  
• Track / lap
  
• Race Settings

Your post should look something like this:

No magic. I was going to make a website on my own to either use the Chess Elo or Bungie's True-Skill system (since both have the equations released) but I found this gem!

Great site for calculating rankings against multiple people. Feel Free to try it out.
If that site ever goes down don't worry, I can build the same thing if needed.

Cause FYI I would pretty much take any challenge anytime

I imagine the hot lap type events are generally open, unless specified.

I would think you just need to respond to the challenge, can be any number of folks... just respond so everyone knows who is competing

Lol oh I'll throw down. I'll have to make a drift tune right after the tourney but that shouldn't be a problem.

I am just using the same car, with the same tune. A-Class Porsche with AWD.

d@mn you epic. Who all was involved in that anyway? Was it just me vs you? And I thought I had it on fujimi kaido, had a good start, was going to pass puppet in the next couple turns and have a pretty open race so no worry for wrecks... until disaster struck in the tunnel.

Things are starting to heat up in the FCL. We had 3 new racers this past night. Unfortunately 2 were unable to complete the race and thus will stay at their default rating. (Although we did consider stealing their rating to feel more 1337)
Epic and Atrum had an epic showdown throughout the tourney. Epic had a very strong lead in the beginning but a 1st place finish on New York New caught Atrum right up. Tsukuba Short in A-class was crazy, and while having a few wrecks in the start Atrum was keeping it fairly close. However lap 8 spelled disaster as the left trigger went out on Atrum's controller! Luckily after a couple of wall-slamming turns he saw what had happened and remapped his L-trigger to L-bumper (thank you Onza) and was able to pull back up to finish just behind Kenny. Fujimi Kaido Reverse was the culmination of this battle and Atrum had a good starting position and was able to maneuver to the front section of the pack. However just when a win was looking possible SockPuppet had the misfortune of clipping a wall sending him spinning sideways blocking off a tunnel right in Atrum's path. Both took damage and dropped to the back and finished there.
Good race epic, very exciting stuff.
We also had our first Drift Challenge tonight. 5 showed, 3 raced, and 1 person stood above the rest. Interseptor blew away Atrum and Puppet to take first place. After Puppet and Atrum had raced a lap and gotten used to drifting it was a close race but Atrum pulled out the better lap drift score.

Lol that track was a mess. There were atleast 3 times where I was positive I was going to wreck but somehow ninja'd around it.

Good stuff. We just need more challenges. Who has a new one?

Full Contact Team Challenge!
This will consist of 3 tracks, best 2/3.
When? Tonight - 7/22 - After 11:00pm EST
What? Full Contact Team Race. Rankings go by placement within team and team (so if you're team wins you will gain rating points, by being in the top half)
# of Players? Any. Depends on how many people show.
Car: Stock Pagani Zonda
Track: TBD (players will choose at race start)
Damage: Either Simulation or Cosmetic only
End Race Timer: None. However Players can vote to end a race (to prevent two players from racing at 3mph for 2 laps)

The team with the most points total will win. ANYTHING goes. So if you think your team will do best with one of you going backwards, go ahead. This won't be a super long event so don't worry about it taking all night. IF we go with simulation damage I imagine this will turn in to more of a "Last man standing" type event.

And I should note that I'll be playing this with anything from 2 players up. So at the very least I'll get to slam Interseptor in to a wall.

I may be on... can't promise there won't be any dildo noises though, Sticky's mom is coming round.

I dunno what happened to me in the challenge, I think I got booted or dropped. My best lap was only 20,281, but I'm pretty sure that would still be 3rd. I look forward to more of these challenges to fill the gap between the Forza 3 season and the start of Forza 4 competition.
