It begins...(It's finished)
Starting on the fence today with my dad and little brother. Went and bought everything yesterday and had it delivered this morning. I'll post pics later with the progress.

Good luck! I'd say have fun but that is probably unlikely. At least you can take pride in a job well done when it's all over. That's always a good feeling. Be sure to post up some pics later.

Update: Got all the posts in and started with top rails. Making minor adjustments here and there. I will say this: Thank God that someone invented the auger. Even though the one I rented (at $65/day I might add) is basically a glorified weed-eater, I would guess that it would have taken at least 3-4 days if we were using post-hole diggers. Dad and brother are staying the night and hopefully finish sometime in the afternoon tomorrow with help from my father-in-law. My wife took some pics but not any good ones. Will take some better pics when we're done.

So the fence is pretty much finished. Just putting the finishing touches on when I get around to it. Ended up taking pretty much 2 days even though we would have gotten done much earlier had the rain not stopped us a couple times. Total cost was about $1500 with the tool rental and delivery costs.

How long is the perimeter now? What's the area it encompasses?

Re: It begins...(It's finished)
It's about 70 feet on each side, 8 feet out from one side of the house and about 10 on the other. Total of about 500 sq. ft. Now I have a truck load of dirt to spread around and fill in the low spots in my yard and I need to go all the way around and tie the fence to the posts. Then it's grass seed planting and trying to get it to take off while also locking down a job.

Ok Michael Vick.
Fence looks good. I've got a guy from an aluminum fence company coming today to run some measurements to see if it's feasible for us to get an "fancy" looking fence for the back yard. I'm getting tired of having to take the puppy out every 1-2 hrs.

Yeah SP that's the exact reason we got it. When you have two dogs it gets real old letting one of them out at a time. Especially when the younger one drinks probably over a gallon of water a day.
