Need help with DMZ setup
First off, let me say that I'm an idiot with computers. I don't know what a DMZ is, I just know it's something I need to do to connect to people on XBL. I don't know how to access my router, because I'm a n00b. I have a Linksys WRT120N Router. Anyone who helps me with this is going to have to take baby steps, just as Wiggles. Any help is appreciated

Re: Need help with DMZ setup
well first off its ok !!!
here we go
step [note you need to be on a pc that is hard wired into your router]
1. open up your web browser (firefox or Explore what ever you use)
2. type 192.168.1.1 into your web bar (were you normally type like www.youtube.com)
2. it will ask for a user name and password since its your first time
your user name leave it blank and your pass word : Admin
3. now when your in there should be a tab that says something like this
(Applications & Gaming) click on that ,
4. now there should be a little sub tab look for one that says DMZ and click it
5. under the Dmz tab do as fallowed and after click saved
~ click Enabled
~ under source IP Address click Any
~ Under destination click IP address
(should read something like this 192.168.1.[put the last 3 numbers of your xbox IP adress here ]
6. click save and that will do it
--------------------------
if you dont know have to Manuel give your Xbox an IP let me know and i can give you the steps

Yeah that's what a lot of ISP's program the password as. Default settings are what I listed. If your ISP set it up it'll probably be easiest to call their tech support.

DMZ - Demilitarized Zone....
By putting an IP in the DMZ, makes that device totally exposed to outside attack/intrusion and not protected by the router. This is not an issue when adding your Xbox 360 there since I have not heard/seen ppl looking to hack your Xbox and jack your save files lol
