Sounds like they're great so long as you don't have a tiny head. Wold've liked a bit more depth though.

I'd rather pay the extra and get a set of Astro's though.

I was just about to throw down on Chimeras and was just trying to decide whether or not to wait for the 5.1 set and pay more... now checking out the Astros, thanks for the tip.

You might not thank me when you see the price...but I hear that they're amazing, plus you can use them with anything, unlike the Chimera.

Can't wait to get my set in the summer.

Well it's a little tricky. You see, the wireless part of the 360 is proprietary so the only truly wireless mic is the wireless mic from M$, which is not a headset. So for headsets you have two options. Wired and wireless. Both require a wire from the 360 controller. Wired ones require a wire from the 360 and from the controller so you are really tethered. Wireless one are wireless from the 360 and usually have a small transmitter you can clip on you belt or sit beside you and then a wire that runs from the 360 controller to the headset. (This is the only way to chat online with the 360). But you are still wireless and can walk around as long as you take the controller with you.

FYI - this is not the case with the PS3. The PS3 is Bluetooth so can have a truly wireless headset. The only way that will happen with the 360 is if M$ makes a gaming headset. It is rumored that Tritton is working with M$ to do just that. Unfortunately that means it will be a Tritton (aka Madcatz) so the quality will probably be lower than Turtle Beach or Astros.

The Atsro's will work with the PS3, 360 and pretty much any other device out there including the PC and home theatre. With that and the overall quality rating they seem like the best overall headset out there. Usually on sale for about $200, the A40 is the best model to get but pricy.

Sorry for the long post. I have been looking into buying one for a while now so I have been reading a lot. Hope this helps.

Remember there should be a new one coming out this year that is totally wireless (wireless from the headset to the controller too). MadCatz got the rights to do it and has announced it. I was sure there was a post about it here somewhere. Anyhow, Madcatz owns Tritton, so it might be a Tritton headset coming out later this year. On to google...

http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/710146/microsoft-and-mad-catz-launching-wireless-branded-xbox-360-headphones/

That really doesn't say if the mic is wireless, so it's a wait and see. I love my X41's but really if you are wired to the controller you might was well be wired, as I get tired of lugging the controller around and normally just take off the headphones anyhow.
