Crysis 2 SP Review

Half way through. Good story - memories of Halo. Great graphics and wide expansive mission maps with multiple paths to the objectives - there is no right answer (usually) other than the one that keeps you alive. Practically everything in the environment is movable and can be grabbed or kicked.

Enemy human AI (Cells) don't miss, swarm, seek cover and lob grenades. Cell armor keeps them in the fight so only head shots are quick kills. Stealth wins - R&G loses.

Weapons are kool and varied with attachment options. Lasers have a small problem with clarity at certain distances - beam and dot diffuses.

Only fought aliens (Cephs) a few times and they are hard to kill. Vicious, aggressive, attack 3D and have powerful weapons. It's like you are fighting brutes and hunters all the time. You have to kill Cephs and collect nano-credits from their bodies to accumulate enough to open up new nano perks. This makes the battles more interesting. Remember, just keep shooting till you get to the jelly parts. LOL

No better fun than walking invisible up to a tango and blasting him with a shotty - lifts him off the ground!! LOL

This is not a short game.

I'm finished!!! As of o/a 0115 hrs ET, 25 Mar 11, I completed SP!!! It took me about 24 hrs spread out over 3 days. It is a LONG game .... but worth it. Story is great and moves the action along - very very little time just traversing a map. Definitely looks like a contender to take Halo's place as the new scifi FPS series. One thing it did that Halo never got to was to allow you to mod your suit/armor - makes a difference.

Ceph get badder, meaner and deadlier as the game progresses. I hate Pingers!!!! (You will find out what they are to your chagrin.) And Devastators make Hunters look like wussies. Melee an alien from behind is awesome and so it watching them explode into a mass of slime when shot be certain weapons. I laughed giddily throughout the game. LOL

Last mission will make you suck dry tits with a mouth of sand. They brought on the pain (but I always died looking good.) ;-)

So much I want to tell you but I won't spoil it. Besides, if I told you you'd still die. LOL

DO NOT miss out on SP. It is worth the time. Now I'll play some MP.

Remember, always shoot for the jelly parts. LOL

Oh, forgot to add. There is a small amount of glitching in the enemy AI in SP. Sometimes an AI will get stuck walking repeatedly against a wall or barrier. Don't be fooled, they are still in the game and will turn on you but they do make for some much needed silent kills (which are fun).

Another handy tip - watch your six. ;-)
