Fallout New vegas
I will be picking this up tonight at midnight, so I would like ot announce I will be MIA for about a month- lol. I have been looking forward to this about as much as Black Ops. Anyone else picking it up in the next day or two?

Not sure myself. I have a few games I need to finish first (before I get sucked in and can't escape). But I might breakdown and get it.

I started playing it as soon as I got home from work. Already spent 4 hrs on it. I'm at the mission where u can get those towns people too fight the powder gang(i think thats the name of them). but so far, its epic. Got my 9mm with the scope and the extra mag.

Um ya, this one is a no-brainer. Gonna take a little while to get out here though, and I will pour any free time I have into it.

Re: Fallout New vegas
its pretty quick to level up it seems. more quicker than fallout 3. I'm at level 20 and I can tell that i'm going to have 2 keep replaying this over and over since there is SO many missions 2 do. I did find some people who can join your party and help out when your fighting 10 people. If anyone has any questions about something, feel free to ask me. It would be nice if we can post about where guns, meds, and other cool stuff is at.

Re: Fallout New vegas
Found the implants outside New Vegas. 4K for the attribute ones, then there are couple of others that are 8K and 12K for damage reduction and health regeneration.
Is anyone finding the gambling easy here, or is it my 7 on luck getting me good cards on Blackjack? I don't think for the most part money will be a problem, as I have already been banned form the 2 casinos I played in. Of course you can save your game at the casino, go crazy with your money, and if you don;t win you reload the save. That has been my plan, but I never have had to reload, and don't think I have even ever been down chips, and won so much they will not let me play. I think each time it was about 12K before they kicked me.
Also remember on thing on fighting those flying bastards- aim for the wings. If you get critical hit, the wing will be taken away and they can't get to you. Helps on the trek north to New Vegas. Plus that path is big time XP. I think I may have ranked up twice just going from the starting town North (but didn't begin my trek until I was 10 or 11).
My #1 hint- put 10 in intelligence (or 9 and quickly get the implant)! That way you can have the most skill points. By level 30 I don't think you can max out most of the skills in this one, unlike after the Broken Steel DLC in the first. In fact, you are going to have a hard time maxing very many skills at all, so more skill points the better. And unless you want a perk that needs high Perception- lower that low as you will get a trusty sidekick that will help with the "detection" part that Perception offers.
There are not many books this time around, but I buy every magazine I see the vendors selling.

Re: Fallout New vegas
I'm at Novac right going the fly something mission now. I'm guessing you get more exp when you play on a harder difficulty?
Re: Fallout New vegas
I've never even been to Novac or Nipton, decided to go north through Sloan. Not the best idea unless you can sneak past the Deathclaws (at level 4 they kill in one shot). Been focusing on a melee and explosives character, pretty interesting journey to say the least.

Re: Fallout New vegas
Well, I've made it to Boulder City and am about to go to Vegas finally (I think)... the game is fun, great story and more of the great formula from Fallout 3... just more refined.

Game pretty awesome ,I'm. Level 11 and haven't even went anywhere north of goodspings. Some pretty cool missions and some tuff choices ,friend or foe of NCR or legion. Still haven't found any gun powder to make bullets WTF, so far I'm friends with everybody which I usually just kill everybody, got 1000xp for one easy mission and have found 7 books so far

Re: Fallout New vegas
I'm level 18 and still havent' stepped foot in Vegas! Too many good side quests, plus they all seem to level you up at least once if you complete them all the way.
Also- there is no increase in exp for increased difficulty (shows as a hint in the loading screens).
One queston- since the patch/update, does it seem like the game takes take much longer to load now? Some of the loading screens go on forever.

Re: Fallout New vegas
For those of you playing Fallout, I would recommend Boone as your sidekick except for one thing- he is a d@mn poacher! Cool thing is you get Exp even when your companions get the kills, but you only gain “karma” if you do the killing. I was attacking some Fiends and I would land 3 shots in vats and Boone would snipe them for the final kill shot. He must have done this a dozen times. Seriously, I thought I was playing with Tico.
