- Spoiler:
- The DLC starts by talking to Liara on Ilium. Cerberus gives you information on the Shadow Broker and possibly were to find him and Fiera, Liara's long lost friend. After telling Liara the information she heads back to her apartment, later you take a speeder to her place to find an assassination attempt on her life. When you walk in a specter greets you and asks if you can help her find possible clues to her whereabouts. After searching the apartment you find a disk which tells you, shes meeting a contact later with the information on the shadow brokers location. Ones you reach the location the building blows up, you start sweeping each floor taking on a sh1t ton of bad guys. In the end you find out Liara survived the bombing and the specter is a spy working for the shadow broker. After stealing the disk She flies off in her speeder and that is were the chase scene begins. You force the specter to crash on a building, then you get our of your speeder and take on more bad guys. One done with the badys you walk around the building to find a trail of blood leading to her location. You take her out and retrieve the disk with the information on the shadow brokers whereabouts. Ones you fly back to the Normandy you head your way to the system were the shadow broker and Fiera are located. You land on the outer hull of the ship and start taking on a constant wave of bad guys tell you reach were Fiera is being held. You find out he is impossible to save until you turn off a machine which the shadow broker controls. You enter in a room to find the shadow broker behind a desk awaiting your arrival. The shadow broker is a beast from a planet on the out rim and he is 3 times the size of a Krogan and makes them look like a wimp as well ( Shadow Broker ) After the shadow broker is dead agents start reporting in on a lost signal and if they are still transmitting. Liara takes the position as the new shadow broker not in an evil way but to give Shepard and his crew all the information he needs. After Liara takes this position you can invite her back to your ship for some drinks and to chat. No sex seen for you blue alien lovers lol. After the scene this is were I was disappointed. Whenever you head back to the ship and speak to Liara she has one simple line *I'm glad you came to see me* or something like that. I have done multiple other missions going back to talk to Liara with no change. I was hoping for her to join your crew and help you fight the collectors. I am hoping I will unlock more when I finish the rest of the missions. If anything drastic changes ill let you know.
All in all about 1.5 hours of gameplay and worth 800 points to the hardcore Mass Effect fan like me

Re: Mass Effect 2 DLC: Shadow Broker My thoughts
I agree. This is what DLC should be, something of substance that actually builds onto the overall ME storyline. I wonder how the impact of decisions made in this DLC will affect your character in ME3. Anyone who's played this one knows what I mean.
Re: Mass Effect 2 DLC: Shadow Broker My thoughts
Yeah I agree wholeheartedly that every decision you made in ME1 will effect ME3. I have to say though ME2 didn't seem to have all those big decision moments that might have you turning back to ME2 or ME1 saying why the F did I do that I'm an idiot.
ME1 Big Decisions in my Book
Biggest - Smallest
Racny Queen: did you let her live or die?
In ME2 on Ilium when your just walking around the corner of the docking bay were the Normandy is at an Assary will ask if your Commander Shepard. She will give you a message from the Rancy Queen saying see will help you kill the Reapers.
Urdnot Rex: did you let him live or did you kill him?
When you go to Tuchancu the clan leader will be Urdnot Rex if you didn't kill him in the first game if not its just a krogan you have never meet.
Ashley Williams or Kaden Alanko: Who did you let die on Vermire?
I haven't played through ME2 with Kaden alive but I was expecting something similar to Ashley Williams saying he wont nothing to do with my while I am working with Cerberus.
The only big decision I have always regretted is putting Mr. Anderson as the humans council member and not Udena. He seems to not enjoy it and I always wanted to see what would happen if Anderson didn't get the postion.
Jwriter tell me if Im missing anything from ME1 lol

To build on your list of ME1 decisions that Effect ME2
- Whether or not you saved the council in ME1
- Whether or not you chose Ambassador Udina over Captain Anderson
- How you treated Conrad Verner (The Fan)
- Whether or not you completed the UNC: Asari Diplomacy sidequest.
- Whether you chose to allow the Alliance to conduct experiments on Nirali Bhatia's body.
Then there are the small decisions where you do see characters from side missions in ME2 (depending on your actions and decisions).
*****SPOILER ALERT*****
I can see The Shadow Broker DLC for ME2 having a significant impact in ME3.
Liara basically becomes the SB, and you help her. You can also continue your relationship with her (even invite her back to the Normandy).
You can take advantage of a lot of the terminals in the SB Lair
- Tons of mineral locations
- Videos of character interactions around the galaxy--from Aria Telok to members of your team, and other around the galaxy.
- Detailed background dossiers on your team
- Using a terminal to set in motion SB style missions that you can check up on later
- Collect on investments

Re: Mass Effect 2 DLC: Shadow Broker My thoughts
If you can catch me online we'll chat...lol...baby keeps me busy, and when I do get on it's late...but I'll keep an eye out for ya.
As far as Conrad Verner and Asari Diplomacy, they are part of the regular side-quests in the game.
In ME1 - Conrad is in the lower ward area at the top of some stairs in the market district - In ME2, he's in the bar on Illium near Liara's Office.
Asari Diplomacy is a mission that you pick up in the bar in the Embassy ward in ME1. It's basically and Asari diplomat (Nasana Dantius) getting you to do her dirty work. In ME2, Than Krios (the assassin you can recruit), is trying to Kill Nasana in the Dantius Towers. He kills her at the end of the mission where you recruit him.
I played through ME1 four times....doing every mission possible.
