The big Halo news out of E3 was clearly the space battles and Firefight 2.0. But there was more there if you looked closely, and naturally Bungie pointed that out in its latest Weekly Update.

During the E3 demo and in the subsequent Firefight showcase, Bungie let loose the infamous female Spartan. Any armor customization bits you unlock or select in the Armory during multiplayer will carry over into the campaign. That includes the Spartan gender and voice. Both male and female voice actors were recorded for the campaign, so you'll get the option of hearing either depending upon which gender you best associate with.

Im sorry there are just things men are better at like drinking beer, cooking with bacon, football, fighting, upright pissing, using power tools, taking massive stinky shits and killing the covenant just to name a few. now if they just add that gay ass motion controller to halo.....whats that thing called "the thatcher" (name after inventor corky) and the soundtrack was made by"Prestige Worldwide" then it would a total fail.

I think there should be female spartans...girls do play video games too you know .

Let me ask you something, what if the games were created w/ all girl characters...what would you say? "I don't want to play as a girl, I'm a man"...guess what? The chicks are saying the same...so who cares if there are women spartans? They are actually in the game too in case you weren't aware.

plus if any of you read the books or watch halo legends there are girls Spartans, one in which plays a big role with master chief and whats happens on reach.
i two dont think it going to hurt the game any i will still wear my male spartan armor.well other like OC might wear the female armor (JK oc )

hey I'm all for chicks playing video games in all. Just the "female badass role" is overplayed and annoys me. To me is just makes the "spartans" not as cool. I always thoght the spartans, like the roman spartans where elite MALE fighters that were badass. I mean how much does that armor weigh. Im sure a 105lb girl can carry it. Look at gow most of the dudes are huge and tuff as hell looking, which to me makes the game more badass. I mean I dont really care what they put in the game, I thought the beta was kinda weak, and as long as its got a good story and end boss( spark=mega fail) it'll be good. As for playing a female character as the main role, If RDR had only a chick, I wouldn't have wanted to play "bad girls" or if God of war had Athena Kickn ass ...come on

Dude, GoW is also adding girls to the assortment with the release of GoW3. Better get use to it. Girls are here to stay. Personally, I don't have a problem with any of it. I think the girls are a welcome addition, especially with the online MP.

You're missing one vital ingredient in logical thinking here....none of this is real. So it doesn't matter how much they "said" the armor weighs.

The characters, story, weapons, abilities, locations, enemy...none of it. So why for a few hours can't a female feel as if she's a bad ass? She's spending the same $60 to duck, dodge, melee, and snipe that you are in your living room. Why short her on the experience and be chauvinistic? Plus, it's a business and you wouldn't turn a woman away from your gun store would you? You'd still take her money for a 9mm pistol...so same thing, if she wants to play-- sell her a game, give her a reason to come back and make all the cash you can...that's what it's really all about anyway. Hello $15 DL content immediately after a game comes out

I hear ya and know its not real, duh. I agree its a business and you got make $$$$. Im just the target Audience a male and previous posts are just my opinion on my $60 that Im spending on my experience and I'm not trying to be chauvinistic.
