I HAVE SKYRIM!!!

It arrived this morning at 9:30 and I have been playing it for the past 7 hours! It is awesome!!!

This game will be fantastic! I have not seen a review below 9/10 yet but that is not to say that it will be for everybody. I will even go as far as to claim this will be the "Game of the Year" from most publications. If you like RPG/Hack n' Slash/open world adventure games than you are in good hands. If you don't like those games then you might want to pass. Did you like Oblivion?

Lets hope he liked oblivion, the graphics are pretty much the same, lol.

Games is great though and I'm not very far into it, haven't even joined a guild yet. Mainly been sticking to the story, hopefully there'll be an arena somewhere so I can go and do some levelling.

Probably the same here. I have DA2 and can get the DLC Redemption. I know it's not the same level but I have tons of new games to play and won't have time for another.

Installing it to the HD now- why is it taking so long!!!?

I was shocked how many people were there for the midnight release. I would guess well over 200!

About to go pick up my copy. Very excited to get this game. If I hadn't just got done with vacation I would call out sick tomorrow.

I didn't really play last night. Went through the prologue and created my character and that's about it. I picked up the strategy guide too, and need to look through it so I can plan a solid build for my character. The strat guide is huge! I think it has King James version stamped on the spine. Anyhow, with a guide like that, the game is going to be immense. Can't wait to dive deeper into it. I have the in-laws in town all weekend, so who knows when I'll actually get around to it. I may have to be a bit un-social and just sneak back into the room and play. There are dragons to be slayed after all!

I got mine going to put it in now. I also picked up the limited edition guide book. It is a huge hard cover beautiful book.

Well it doesn't look like I will get to play any tonight. The in laws are coming and staying all weekend, and my wife decided they get to sleep in the den. My mother-in-law goes to bed a 8! So no Xbox for me

Got mine. The wife bought the strategy guide too. Once the baby falls asleep I'll be on a 24 hour marathon.

So, I was passed over for a promotion, which was given to a guy that was in the same position as me for like a year or two less than me... my DM is a twat waffle. Anyway, since the work is shitting on me my awesome wife bought me Skyrim (Epic, this is why we post deals about Coach purses - happy wife, happy life) and now I'll be trying to spend the next hour or so tonight fiddling around an making a character. Most likely I'll go something stealth based, since I like Zak's idea of making a vampire. Long story short... I HAVE SKYRIM!!!!!

Awesome! My advice is to not limit yourself to one style. You can max everything eventually, I believe. Im destroyed mage w heavy armor, good w all weapons, stealthy, max trade skills, high speech... u get the point. Make a badass!

You can max everything except the perks. The # of perks your get is dependant on the level at which you max everything out.

Well, I have heard that you only get perks up to lvl 50. You can continue to level up your skills all the way to 100, but the perks stop so be sure to choose those wisely. I would recommend building a character to a specific skill set and use those perks first. Then fill in with other stuff from time to time. After all, the perks are really the important stuff here and not so much the actual skill level. For example, I can have blacksmithing maxed out at 100 but if I don't have the perk, I still can't improve ebony armor. You see what I am getting at? Also, there are something like 250 available perks and only 50 you can activate. If you take a "jack of all trades" approach you may find yourself without true power in any one category.

There is nothing wrong with maxing out and playing around with all the skills but my advise is to still concentrate on two or three specific skills the most. Like all Bethesda games, you can not get every perk. You ever play Fallout 3 etc...? The perks will run dry at 50 so be sure you have the ones you want the most.

Incorrect, I think. Whative read is you continue getting perks as you level past 50 up to 70 or 80. I'm I'm the 40s now so I will confirm this soon, bit others have confirmed it on other boards. I checked before veering off from just straight mage. I can now own as hack n slash, archer, and destruction mage.
