Video Games at Bookstore and Launch Night Party
So, the university bookstore that I work for (GVSU Laker Store) is considering selling video games, consoles, subs, accessories, etc. and possibly throwing midnight release launch parties. We saw that another university did it and was able to pull in about 80 customers, which if they're each buying a game would be some great revenue. And since the students currently have to drive at lest 15-20 minutes to the nearest store that sells games, and probably 30 minutes to the nearest store that throws a launch party, we figured we could carve out a great niche for our store and be a great service for our students.
To try and gather some info from our customers, the Tech Dept. put together a survey that they are planning on handing out (not yet sure where) and they were looking for some input, both on what you're guy's answers to the questions might be and if there's anything we might be missing. You have to remember that the majority of our customer base are college students (who can be pretty broke), but depending upon when events are they might be able to use financial aid and we might get customers from the small towns that are around the university.
Any and all feedback will be much appreciated! I'll be forwarding everyone's responses & comments to the tech manager on a daily basis, but they're really looking to try and get the survey out within the next week or so to get some data before the holidays. Here's the survey questions they have:

Re: Video Games at Bookstore and Launch Night Party
More importantly, if your place of employment begins selling video games - does that mean you qualify as for vendor passes to E3???
If so, dibs on an extra one.

I talked to the tech manager and she said if we start selling and can get some, they're all mine. I'd like to see if there's a possible new revenue stream I could find that would work our store, so I'd plan it as a work trip and the whole thing would be covered by the university.

I think you might even qualify for free entry if you're the one responsible for purchasing gaming related shtuff.

After you first mentioned it I started going through E3's site and think we could possibly qualify for free tix. The tough thing is I'm the warehouse/web fulfillment manager so I don't directly buy, per we, rather I run the back of the house. However, if I billed my title as Ecommerce manager I might be able to swing it. Also, the tech manager is taking my feedback and input as well as her students so I might be in on the decision making for game buying. I was planning on going to IRCE, but I'd rather hit E3.
