I have been wondering what my role is in cod?

Plague, I have been wondering the same thing.  I know that I am not a slayer and don't get that many kills per game. So I am looking for the role that I can play that will allow me to best contribute to the clan.  I know that I can play as a support role on the various game types. But, I want to know how best to do that.  Like, following the slayers  on the KC to collect tags?  Bomb carrier on S&D? Sniper on overwatch on TDM or other types?  Capping flags on DOM?  I am open to how I can best help the team.

I am open to any role that I can play, since I just enjoy playing with you guys.

Basically what Rico says is good, you really got to find out how you play each game mode best, find your style and always play that way or tell your teammates what your plan is or ask them what they want you to do in game. In dom im a flag capper i constantly run toward b, cap, then defend b, die and repeat. On kc my main focus is collecting ALL TAGS and run and gunning the whole time, but as long as i grab one tag per life I'm ok with that. Tdm i find a part of the map im good at and play only that section of the map or i swim with friends and stay as close to teamates as possible. S and D i follow the herd or am a suicide bomb planter

I mainly just run around like a chicken with my head cut off. Mainly tho dom I like to cap everything. Kc I play Pacman

I always felt like only you know your strengths and weakness. It never made much sense to assign someone a role. If you select a person for something he's not great at he'll only cause your team to fail. Besides, there are really only two types of people when it comes to a game like COD.

"Run and Gun (me)" or "sit back and wait".
Run and gun is obvious and the guy always running for the flag or causing a disruption so another can get the flag, cap in Dom, get the tags, etc. Then there are the ones who sit back and wait for the action. I'm NOT talking camping, but a sniper for instance or more long distance skilled shooters defend the objective and keep others safe.

Neither is a negative and both are needed.

I always like to think of play styles as a triangle chart similar to what we use to measure sports strength/power (see below)
The difference is, for 'style' each corner would be 'Slayer', 'Support', 'Objective'. There are, of course, skills that help with each area.

This also helps visualize why 2 people can both be equally skilled in mechanics (gun skills, movement, etc), but have massively different KDAs. Someone extremely specialized to slaying will be very impressive in lobbies. Someone who is an expert at both support and objectives will probably be key to winning more games though.

You could draw one of these yourself and try to self rank, or have someone watch a game and rate you.
Slayer - Kills, obviously. Also ability to win 1v1s, get key positions, etc
Support - Someone laying down fire, cutting off important areas, controlling spawns, etc
Objective - Controlling dom points, getting tags, bomb caps, etc. In Objective gametypes controlling and understanding spawns is also crucial here.

From playing with you I think you could be a slayer or support role depending on the group you're with. If you are with one of the obvious slayers (such as sticky) then you would be a good support player. If you are with players that are more objective based I think you could take over the slayer role and do just fine!👍

Agree slayer but rico try just laying back pick ur enemy off me im not a slayer but i go the oppsite r i take the who ever coming around us it basically only depends on the gun use n the way play n ur teamates

N tbh honest just have fun your type of play stlye come to u trust me ikw i was horrible at this lol but playing wit these guys make u do better
