Mad Max: Fury Road
I guess the Oscars are cancelled for next year based on the reviews I'm seeing. No other movie has a chance in any category. Rotten Tomatoes has it at 99%, JoBlo.com gave it 10/10, and Deadspin scored it an A. Sucks I won't have time to see it until Sunday morning!

It definitely looks good. Ratings that high across the board... someone threw some serious money at the critics.

Yeah, but not just the ones he named there, everyone is saying the same.
It hard to get that many people to agree on hot water actually being hot (even as you witness the steam).

I went and saw it during my lunch today. It's definitely a good action flick and I'd recommend seeing it.
That being said, I've seen plenty of other action movies just as good that critics universally gave a 30% ratings.
Definitely an enjoyable movie - I just call shenanigans on the super hype going around by the critics.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road
Thanks to Atrum's opinions on it I was able to lower my expectations just a little before buying my ticket yesterday morning. However, I have to respectfully disagree. George Miller must have have spent each waking moment of the past 30 years with a hard on wanting to make this movie. It's a goddamned masterpiece and I'm having trouble thinking of an action movie that tops it.

I would have enjoyed it more if the dude next to me decided not to bring his own beer...and clap...and yell advice at the screen.
10:40 is a little early for a Sunday morning, but he didn't offer me one.

Yes! I can't wait to see it again. It was pretty incredible. A simplistic story, so that you could enjoy the spectacle of mayhem constantly being thrown at you. I watched it in the IMAX and it was amazing. I'm seriously thinking about seeing it again tomorrow. This is tops over Fast and the Furious and Avengers so far this summer.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road
Me and the wife checked it out today. I might have had too high hopes going into the movie but I was a little disappointed in the story. Max was awesome and the action was great but the story just wasn't as good as I hoped.
Maybe it deserves another watch on BluRay but I wont be shelling out another 20 bucks to watch it.

Just saw this last night and I have to say that it might be one of the best movies I have ever seen. It's so simple it's brilliant.
