This was on the same YouTube channel as Sturgill. Apparently nobody told me about JJ Grey, good stuff.

I like some good Texas country, Jason Boland, whiskey Meyers is a good start. Tons of good artist that actually have small venue concerts. Whiskey Meyers is getting larger though. Crazy, happen to run into the band while playing a round of golf in Tyler tx, a few months ago.

Jason Boland is my cousin...a distant one,lots of Bolands on my Dad's side of the tree. I'm familiar with Texas country but I confess that I don't know Whiskey Myers. I'll check them out.

I've actually played music with JJ Grey and Mofro.....I have a couple of friends that play with him when he is in town...great music...great guy. He's been doing a thing with Southern Soul Assembly Tour along with Marc Broussard, Anders Osborne, and Luther Dickinson (of North Mississippi Allstars).
