Far Cry
Played this game a little last night and I have to tell you...Classic Far Cry! Just started but the beginning scene...before the actual gameplay starts...is awesome!

The more I see on TV for this, the more I think I'm going to ask for it for Xmas/birthday.

Re: Far Cry
This is all I've been playing lately....there is so much to do and the story is awesome. I'll be heading to do a story mission and then there'll be a broadcast over the radio that a base is being attacked....BOOM! Story has to wait when all hell beaks loose! Great Game! The DJ on the radio is freaking funny as hell too.

Nobody's mentioned riding an elephant while letting loose with a heavy machine gun yet.

I plan on playing this after I get through Dragon Age: Inquisition so it's good to see good things being said.

Re: Far Cry
Started this up since PSN is down and I can't load my DAI world state. I've never played any of the others but I have to say the game is pretty entertaining. I started and offline campaign (because of PSN), but I'm not sure of the difference between running an online one vs an offline one.
Only played for like an hour and I still don't completely know what I'm doing with crafting and upgrading but it's still a good time. I accidentally had nades equipped and meant to throw a knife, ended up causing all sorts of hell. And I love using the bait to take out large groups. Just need to get that holster crafted for the sidearm.
To me the game has a modern SKYRIM!!! feel to it, in that I could spend hours running around on side quests, exploring, and hunting/crafting before really getting though the story. At some point I'll try to get into the MP and online stuff.

The co-op is available online, same console, or both? Didn't really check the back of the case or look at the MP stuff, just started playing SP.S7 Sticky wrote:loving this game got it for xmas about 9 hours into mostly co op stuff cant wait to work on my story

Re: Far Cry
It's a fun game so far. Currently playing it and about halfway through (haven't opened up the north area yet). I find myself spending hours just doing random stuff. Sometimes I feel like questing, sometimes I just feel like flying around in my little helicopter thing jumping from location to location to grab random loot, locations and masks/letters.
I play full-on stealth mode for everything so it probably takes me a lot longer to get things done than somebody that goes in Rambo style. My main setup is a silenced sniper, silenced SMG (The Shredder is badass), bow and grenade launcher/RPG (mainly for tearing up convoys).

Re: Far Cry
Yeah, I ran the prologue mission where you're running up the hill to the tower on stealth. It's much easier to take your time, scout everyone out, and take them out silently. Of course, one must be armed to the teeth in case you have to flip the script and go guns blazing.

Re: Far Cry
Just finished this game up. Pretty much exactly as expected from a Far Cry game. Enjoyed Far Cry 3 and this one was not a disappointment. I did all the outposts being undetected but after that I kind of strayed away from the stealth aspect since there are some awesome OP weapons that can't be silenced. At that point I just enjoyed blowing sh1t up and going Rambo style.
Very much recommend the game if you played and enjoyed Far Cry 3.

Re: Far Cry
Got thru Act 1 and I'm having a pretty good time. Sucks that I have a bunch of crafting materials but not enough to make a complete item. I've has a full pack forever and can't find a second skin to expand my pack.
And I found out the hard way that rhinos don't like when you throw Molotovs at them and that the Molotov won't kill the rhino. Spent like 10 minutes trying to get away from a rhino on foot, not cool. Looks like you can make stuff with their hides, but I need to be either higher level or have better weapons.

Re: Far Cry
Zak and I had a blast tearing up outposts with elephants and using the mini chopper to surgically insert ourselves for attacks. I found out by accident that you can grapple onto the chopper if the other player flies by, which is pretty neat. I don't remember who asked about riding an elephant with a machine gun but it is possible, I spent most of my time rolling on the elephant with an LMG which is like having an APC with a 50 cal.

I was the one posting about the elephant riding. Since I unlocked the buzzsaw MG42 I haven't jumped back on one though. Gotta try the chopper grapple, sounds badass!

Re: Far Cry
Played some more last night with Zak and started working on hunting for skins and upgrading my gear. This game is really addicting. Spent another couple hours today taking camps, upgrading gear and freeing towers to clear the fog of war. It's nice to have my holsters upgraded so I can actually carry some different weapons. Now I'm on the hunt to open the home that Zak showed me last night.
Thanks for your help Zak and thanks for the offer today UC. I would have taken you up on it since the game is a lot more fun co-op, but the kiddo had me stopping and starting so I didn't want to have you deal with that and me constantly talking to her to keep her from destroying the basement.

Re: Far Cry
That's cool Puppet.....yeah...this game is addicting. I've basically beat the game thus far but have downloaded the DLC's. I also have been looking at the map editor....you can create your own map. There is also 5v5 multi player that I am looking to do soon. Thinking of starting the game from the beginning as well....different scenarios depending on what missions you play....gonna stick with Amita on all....
