Assassin Creed... again? Empty Assassin Creed... again?

Post by S7 K1ll3rKlown Fri Mar 21, 2014 12:08 pm

Is it just me (could be) or are they making a few too many of these?
I'll allow you guys to judge. I haven't played in awhile

I would agree. Maybe they'll make some big changes/improvements? Doubtful, but maybe!

Yeah, I am torn on this.  On one hand I hate annual releases.  On the other hand, the AC games are pretty consistently awesome.  I got burned out by Revolutions which was an expansion of AC2.  It was the only game in the series I just didn't click with.  Because of this I skipped AC3 which I heard was pretty good.  Then came along AC4.  I had taken a year off from the series so I picked up AC4 cause... PIRATES!!! ARRR!!!  And wouldn't you know?  AC4 is awesome.  Kind of hard to b1tch when year after year they release good stuff.

With so many other games coming out in the fall time frame I'll be skipping this one.  Not to mention I'll probably still be addicted to ESO for a while, lol.

I'm one of the biggest AC fans and I say...Bring it on....I'll buy it.  Especially with the release of Black Flag.....crazy good game and very different from previous releases

It depends on what they'll be adding to the new one.  The pirate element in Assassins Creed 4 was great and I really enjoyed the naval battles.  If there's anything new and exciting releasing with the next one, then I'll probably get it at some point.

I would defiantly get it because I took the mindset of the gameplay changing little but the story bringing on a rich culture and different scenery. I would have to say I liked Assassins Creed Revelations the most because it was the final chapter of Ezio's life, and Ezio was my favorite assassin so far. On the other hand I hated AC 3 (" CHARLES LEE!!! ") because I felt the main character lacked depth. I will have to see how the next game turns out with it hinting at the french revolution it could be a great game. I would also like to see how the game looks with the consoles being better so the developers have a reason to bolster the graphics on the console and PC side.

And see for me Revolutions was the breaking point.  AC1 was fresh and new... and fun.  AC2 was an improvement in pretty much every way and refined the game.  Brotherhood took it all one step further (and in my opinion was the best game in the series until AC4).  Revolutions was just more of the same for me and did not add anything new to the series.  It was starting to run long in one location too.  Then you pile on a more than normally strange and convoluted story and I was just turned off the series at that point.  I dabbled with AC3 here and there but never actually played through it.  AC4 then rekindled my flame for the series.  This next game has some pretty big shoes to fill but I am hopeful.

I need to go back and beat 4.  I really got into it until I hit the pirating, then I spent all my time pirating and basically became tired of the game.  Maybe during the slower months at work this summer I'll try to go back to it and finish working on my ship and on the main story playthru.
