Wal-Mart Accepting Game Trade-ins
Not sure if all the Wal-Mart shoppers out there caught wind of this yet or not but starting March 26th, Wal-Mart will start accepting game trade-ins in stores and offering credit to use towards in-store merchandise and later in the year they'll start selling Certified "like new" games:

Get 'em Walmart!!
That should send Game Stop screaming for the door. Once Walmart decides to play your customer base is no more.
I feel like I'm watching that episode of South Park

Re: Wal-Mart Accepting Game Trade-ins
Well it just all depends on one thing. Price. Gamestop only deals with games, so they low-ball you to maximize profit in the only area they sell in. Walmart can honestly afford to pay you more money for your games up to double what Gamestop can because they make more money in other areas like clothing, food, automotive, and so on. But the thing is, that if they utilize this by paying more that Gamestop, then they will be considered a monopoly putting them out of business in less than a years time no problem and that is a no no for the government. So I honestly don't really see this being something to take Gamestop down unless you are someone that is horrible at money management and need to trade in your games for in store credit so you can buy food...

I'd be unloading any Gamestop stock I had...like NOW. Wal-mart is in the business of crushing the competition.

Oh no I quit gamestop shortly after getting all the discounts I needed and am no fan of their's. My beef with Walmart is their negative economic impact on communities.S7 K1ll3rKlown wrote:LOL I know you say that for obvious reasons. Their economies of scale drive out small business, then their willingness to pay employees a non living wage keeps the poor poor.

Agreed...they have their faults.
But f#ck Gamestop more!!!
If you're a worker you can always elevate yourself. If Walmart isn't treating you right and isn't paying your bills go back to school, get the GED, get a degree in something, work at the local jail (God knows they build them daily). You don't have to remain Wal-Mart's B#tch.
As for Gamestop they rob you because no one else takes the games for credit or cash like they did. They pay you $8 for a $60 returned game-- then before you walk out place a tag on the exact same item saying "used $54.99" . That's just highway robbery at it's finest.

I doubt walmart will offer more. People will choose them so they can spend their in-store credit on consumables.

This is kinda what I was thinking. They could actually give about the same or possibly even a little less for this reason.S7 Coolhand wrote:I doubt walmart will offer more. People will choose them so they can spend their in-store credit on consumables.
