Titanfall Beta

Looks like the Titanfall beta's coming feb.14th guys, I can't wait to finally give this game a go.

a few of us were in the Alpha 

all i can say as im still under NDA  is the game is alot of fun and could disposable be a cod killer
had a blast and the game looks and plays very well


cant wait for beta as on the alpha forums they have gone over a few of the fixing so should be alot of fun

I think Call of Duty, like Halo, has to kill itself for something to take over. Halo 3 wasn't bad, but it wasn't as epic/innovative as 1 and 2. Then what followed was so inconsistent. Call of Duty has been on the 'every game is the same' track for a while but hasn't really gotten worse. I do hope Titanfall, in it's final form, is good enough to take CoDs place.

how do i get a hold of playing the beta? i have watched numerous videos of titanfall and all i can say is WOW!

if its open every one will get in 


if its a closed beta  there will be an email sent to your origins account with a key

hey sticky what do you mean when its open everyone can join? do i need to signup anywhere? or go to a particular site to register?

normally an Open beta will just be on the dashboard for every one to click on and download

Don't know if it was stated earlier, and not sure how I feel now. I just heard (or re-heard and finally realized) that this is a multiplayer only game. I like MP but thought it would be single player as well. I play through games (yes even finished COD Ghost) and prefer to play an entire game in single player then move on to MP. It's just how I feel connected to what's happening in MP. For instance if you never played SP you wouldn't understand how/why there is a flooded map in Ghost. But those of us that did know how, who did it, why, and enjoyed watching it flood as we tried to get to higher ground as just one small example of how the MP is supposed to be an extension of what we do/see in SP.

Point of this thread, how many of you knew it was MP only? and how do you feel about that??

I've known for a long time, and to be honest, I'm more excited that it's a MP only game.  Games like CoD or BF4 that spend time working on a single player game that about 2% of people will ever complete doesn't make sense to me.  I'm glad they've built it up from day one as a MP only game.  That's the bread and butter of today's FPS games and it's nice to see somebody go 100% that way.

Klown I think you are in the minority of gamers that like to play and finish the sp that much. I think most gamers look toward the mp and maybe co-op story more in a game.

I have to agree with husker and oc, the fact that they can dedicate 100% towards the MP means it should be top notch. I played the previous SP call of duties, but i didn't finish the one for ghosts. The story line looked cool at the beginning but to me i'm more worried about getting the highest rank that i can accomplish on the MP. So i don't want to waste time on the SP. The only time i played SP was when the servers were down at the beginning or if for some reason or another my internet it down and i have nothing else to do online. I care more about Prestiging than i do getting gamer points and accomplishments. I didn't know that it was MP only, but that doesn't effect my decision on getting the game one bit.

I don't care about achievements and gamer points. I only care about the story and having personal time to explore the "back story" to the whole thing. It has to be some reason for the chaos and madness right? Why are the titans there, how / why are the guys driving them, what is the purpose of any of it...There should be a cool backstory to make sense. I think they are just being lazy and prefer to make the MP instead of (and don't have the resources) to make a cool realistic back story for the titans.

Personally I'm a bit disappointed. Doesn't mean I'm not getting the game, just takes something away from it for me.

FWIW, there is a story and a campaign aspect to the game even though it's MP only.  I think a lot of people are getting confused and thinking this game is just going to be CoD w/out the single player aspect.  There is much more to it than that.

Pretty much summed up what I meant...they get it. Eventhough they are trying to find an excuse not to do it-- they realize we're SP players are out here. I for one love a good campaign just as much as the MP. They are trying to go with the best of both worlds as even in the article they admit "they don't have the resources" to do.

“There’s a lot of times where you’ll spend months and months and months putting together this single-player level that someone will try to run through in six minutes,” says Vince Zampella, co-founder and general manager of Respawn Entertainment. “All that effort you put into it doesn’t get seen, doesn’t get used – it’s kind of wasted.”

As a new studio, Respawn doesn’t have resources to waste. Rather than put out diluted versions of the ordinarily separate modes, the company took the unusual approach of merging the two to create one highly polished experience in Titanfall – something the studio is calling “campaign multiplayer.”


So we'll see, kind of suspect but getting it anyway. In the end it all depends on when RBI Baseball '14 drops and what type of game it is. If it's a true sim I may have to wait on titan fall as all my free time will be correcting my sliders, curves, and change ups. LOL

Yea, I don't play the Single player until way after the multi, if ever. I think the first Black Ops was the last one I played, and it was great. I think integrating the story into multiplayer will be a nice way to maximize resources and deliver a quality game. I'm looking forward to it.
