Huskers lounge and locker room...
Normally I don't post much about the Huskers but I thought this was awesome. Ever wonder why tickets cost so much forcollege football? Lol

Pretty sweet. I'd say however there are a few teams (pro) that would have them beat like Cuban's Mavericks.
Back to the subject. I don't think what you see comes from ticket sales alone.
Infact, I know it comes from "BOOSTERS" and they also pay for the scholarships that pull the best talent into the program. Unfortunately, sometimes those same boosters will illegally give the young players/family money for them to play there. Think Cam Newton's dad and even as far back as Deion Sanders and the FSU scandals.

Oh, I don't discount the booster thing at all. Whether it's right or wrong, boosters can make or break top college football programs. Hell, everything in Oklahoma States football program is basically paid by T. Boone Pickens. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he had a part to play in the current scandal with Oklahoma State players getting paid.

Still not 100% sure how I feel about players in college getting paid. You look at the millions and millions a school gets because your son plays there. Sure he'll get a shot at Heisman, 1st draft pick, blah, blah...but the coach is already a millionaire and the school is getting there's. Your son breaks his leg he loses everything even though they've already cashed in from his playing time. Students on scholarship can't work so he's stuck saying books, food, and room/board paid for. He has nothing to hang with friends at McDonalds or buy clothes, washing detergent, fabric softener, new shoes, bed sheets, soap, shampoo...just the everyday essentials every student needs. I'm starting to think they should get a small piece of the pie maybe. $1,000 month maybe? that's not too much--just something to live on.

I paid for food, housing, amenities, etc just fine with student loans + scholarships. God forbid a student use their loans for something other than an xbox, 10 games, a car down payment, etc and use it to actually live off of as it is intended.

The whole system is a joke. Most of the athletes have no desire for or aptitude to earn a real degree.
