Yea- I'm working on my Hammer and like it. With the throttled firing rate, it works just like a burst rifle.

Throttled firing rate? Is that the select fire or some other special attachment? That might be the item that I perm unlock when I hit the 4th prestige.

No the Hammer starts off shooting really fast, then slows the fire rate. It's just a feature of the gun, but if you burst fire you can hit with lots of bullets really fast. I normally use the burst and singe fire weapons, so it works great for me.
