Atrum's LNS Triforce Tournament - Friday 5/24

I am proud to present Atrum's LNS Triforce Tournament . It's that time again everyone. Before we kick off the Regular Season it's time for one more EPIC Late Night Series Tournament.
This one is going to be a combination event, so pay attention! Or not, I'll be running the room so just wreck some people out, have fun, and read below for more details.

Race 1-3: Oppan Gauntlet Style
Races 4-6: Regular Racing - Sim Damage, Destruction encouraged
Race 7: Last Man Standing Death circle!

Points
We're playing Golf everyone! You get points equal to your placement in each race. Lowest score at the end wins.

Rules (detailed)

Race 1-3: Oppan Gauntlet Style
This is a Gauntlet race. Each racer will take turns trying to complete 1 lap with the best time. We have done this before, but there is a key difference. This time, everyone turns around, a countdown happens, and EVERYONE goes at the same time. The only real rule here is Destroyers are not allowed to go forward at any time.

Races 4-6: Regular Racing - Sim Damage, Destruction encouraged
These 3 races will be completely normal. Race forward, first one to finish the race wins. HOWEVER, full contact/driving backwards is allowed and encouraged. No getting mad when you spin someone out and they decide to go backwards at 180mph and obliterate your car. Also no getting mad when someone tries to get revenge and destroys you on accident. If you're going to race, get ready for the potential to sit there red engined. That being said, it should be a blast.

Race 7: Last Man Standing Death circle!
We have also done this tournament before, only a bit different. Damage here is simulation. Each lap a player will be eliminated. You guys need to be aware of where you finish, because it's impossible for me to keep track alone. In the event that everyone is unable to move, whoever got furthest will win when the race ends. So if everyone dies on the 1st lap, except for one person. It's going to be what place you are in when the race ends. If EVERYONE somehow gets completely destroyed (won't happen) we will end the race at a certain time (example; this race has a 12 minute limit, if we hit 12 minutes we write down positions and end it).

This will be an B-Class Event. The setting are pretty simple and as follows:

Date: Friday May 24th, 2013 (<- THIS FRIDAY)
Time: Racing starts at Midnight Eastern Time (12am - technically Saturday morning)
Car Class: B
Damage: Races 1-3 Cosmetic, Races 4-7 Simulation
Collisions: Always On
Starting Grid: Random
Tracks: Random - Player based
# of Races: 7
# of Laps: TBD(depending on track selection)

The winner will be decided by who has the lowest total points at the end of the night. This friday. BE THERE!

Lame, I work early Saturday. Seems as though the LNS schedule lined up with the days I had to be up for work on Saturday by like 6am, makes it hard to start racing at midnight. Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait for Season 3.

Yup, 4 laps in I'm sure someone will forget there's a puppet sitting at the finish line. It'd also make it a gamble for who starts behind you lol

This series was epic! I'll do a general summary and post results.

Races 1 & 2 were the gauntlet races, and things got crazy. OC was molested multiple times (while dishing out some of his own), and each track had a person or two pulling off a fairly clean lap. The group was close but after these 2 races Atrum and Reggie were tied for the lead.

Then came the sim damage races. Keep in mind these are essentially the same settings we use in the regular season, just with wrecking encouraged. Apex blew away most of the competition here taking 3 first place finishes out of these 4 races. Everyone else mixed up their results but Chippy, Husker, and really everyone had a hand at wrecking dreams.

Finally came the LMS race on a short oval. Things were heated and a wreck separated the pack. In the end Apex and Interseptor were racing for first with 10 laps to complete for the win. Apex pulled ahead and despite the wreckers (who could move) attempts - he pulled out another win.

8th - OC - 48 pts
7th - Husker - 36 pts
6th - KnightOwl - 35 pts
5th - Chippy - 33 pts
4th - Reggie - 29 pts
3rd - Interseptor - 24 pts
2nd - Apex - 21 pts
1st - Atrum - 18 pts

Congrats to everyone on a great night of racing. Apex's rough gauntlet races cost him the tournament, the back of the pack was VERY close, and everyone had a great time. See you guys at the F-Class season event!

Good times even though I ended up driving backwards half the time due to wrecking out early!

Good times. I usually don't go for the wrecking races, but the rules in this one kept it fun and challenging. running headlong into a gauntlet of ruthless and vengeful S7R members is a monumental task.

OC took more than his fair share of One Two combo hits from Interceptor and I. I haven't pulled the replays yet, but I saved them just to relive the carnage.

I also had a blast hovering in rear view mirrors during the Sim events.

I feel the same about wrecking racing and almost didn't attend because of that but I had fun, especially those first set of gauntlet races. The others weren't really my style but still weren't horrible, just different.

That's what the LNS series is for, getting away from the normal serious races and having some fun. Gauntlet ones were my favorite as well.
