Atrum's LNS Tag "it" Tourney

I am proud to present Atrum's LNS Tag "it" Tourney. Not to be confused with last week’s Tag-Team event, this week it is every man for himself in a straight up fight for power. Things are going to get messy as people fight for the right to be champion. This week we going to play a game of Tag. Only one person is “it” and we must fight to the final lap to keep the prize. ANYTHING GOES! Driving backwards, hiding, running, hitting, pitting etc… You do whatever it take to finish the race being “it”.

The rules are simple: Do anything you can to finish the race while you are “it”. This is a game of Tag so being “it” is as simple as tagging the person who is currently “it”. The hard part is keeping it. This is a Full Contact event and Anything Goes so things are definitely going to get crazy. Once you are “it”, you want to do anything you can to avoid even the slightest contact, while everyone else is going to do everything they can to make contact. And here is a fun twist, damage will be cosmetic only. So don’t hold back! Get in there and mix it up!

“it” will start off the race in 1st place and will be randomly assigned before the start of each race. Everyone else will be on a random grid order. There is also a 3 sec “no tag” rule every time “it” changes players. This means you cannot lose “it” for 3 sec after you get it. (these are built into the rules of the game mode, not something we have to monitor)

Points

There will be two ways to earn points in this event. Points will be based off of where you finish over all AND awarded for who finishes “it”. You will get some traditional points for where you finish the race but the big bonus comes from finishing while “it”. The race is not “officially” over until either “it’ crosses the line OR the 1 minute end race timer runs out (fight to the last second if “it” is still up for grabs). Points breakdown is as follows:


1st = 5pts
2nd = 4pts
3rd = 3pts
4th = 2pts
5th = 1pt

“it” = 10pts

Being “it” will replace whatever points you would have finished the race as. (i.e. If you finish 1st as “it” you still only get 10pts.) The objective is to finish the race as “it”. 1st-5th points are just a consolation prize.

This will be an S-Class Event. The setting are pretty simple and as follows:

This is an LNS Tourney and a Full Contact event. The event will be 7 races.

Date: Friday March 29, 2013 (<- THIS FRIDAY)
Time: Racing starts at Midnight Eastern Time (12am - technically Saturday morning)
Car Class: S-Class
Damage: Cosmetic
Collisions: Always On
Starting Grid: “it” 1st – Random for the rest
Tracks: Random - Player based
# of Races: 7
# of Laps: TBD(depending on track selection) [/b]

The winner will be decided by points at the end of the night. The person with the most points will be the Tag "it" Champion. Be there. This should be a blast. Event is THIS FRIDAY!!!

Sounds awesome! Cosmetic damage is going to make things very interesting. The big tough cars won't have much advantage (unless you just enjoy tossing people around). The finish line should also be an interesting place.
I definitely foresee people waiting on the last corner to try to steal being IT from the leader.

We did test this the other day too. Trust me, it's a lot of fun. And more than once the race ended with "it" still running around. The 1 minute end race timer becomes a sudden death timer. I remember OC stealing it with like 1 sec on the timer.

No joke, it was crazy fun when we ran a test trial in last weeks afterparty. using cosmetic damage made it thrilling to duke it out with whoever was it along with everyone else and still be able to run away in a frantic trail of parts and tire smoke.

With so many points being awarded for "it", there is a chance for someone to not podium at all yet still scratch and fight their way to a win or at the very least muscle their way into a 2nd or 3rd place victory.

Sorry, I'm a friggin lightweight. I've been getting the usual new dad sleep (ie practically none) and Saturday is warehouse day so it's unloading a couple hundred pieces off a truck and then also filing overstock using ladders and there's usually some throwing around of boxes in there, all things that don't mix well with no sleep.

I understand though. Having a (nearly) 1 month old baby, along with my job, studies, workouts, wife, gaming, and on-call shifts (on call this week 24/7) I too am a bit sleep deprived.
I don't think I'd be on if I had an early shift though, that's rough...erm, I mean I'd totally be on so you should be too!

Yeah, it would be easier to make an occasional midnight if I knew the kiddo would sleep thru the wife. Half the time I'm concerned for my sleep and half the time for my wife. I know sometime here Ella will start sleeping for most of the night and then I might be able to play some more.
