The once video game-focused network G4 will cancel the long-running shows X-Play and Attack of the Show by the end of the year according a post on G4TV.com. New episodes for the shows will continue to run until December featuring a rotating cast of guest hosts.

This news is not entirely surprising, as rumors have been fluttering for the past couple of months that the network planned a major re-brand.

Sad news. I liked AToS in particular.

On a side note, I thought this was a double post at first. G4tv and GTA V are very similar and my brain confused the two at first.

Very sad. I still watch AOTS all the time. As soon as Kevin left it started looking bleak. I think they should change their name from G4TV to CopsTV now. As that is the only thing that plays.

Yeah, I remember a while back seeing some article mentioning that it's going to be rebranded as some kind of "GQ" channel.

This is no surprise considering all the rumors about it. G4TV was cool back in the day, but it's a whole lotta nothing now. Especially now that Kevin and Adam left the show. I think G4TV is making a big mistake, bigger than the mistakes they've already made.

I remember when G4TV picked up TechTV. I used to watch the hell out of Screen Savers on the DirecTV when I worked at Blockbuster.
