SKYRIM!!! DLC #2
It's called Hearthfire, it's 400msp and it's coming out September 4th. Check out the trailer below...
So what do you think? It's obviously not a full expansion like Dawnguard and it's also not priced like Dawnguard. Seems like a cool add-on to me. I will most likely check it out.

I don't know, it could be cool. I would not mind owning my own home, depending on how customized you can make it. Is it just one template? Can I buy land anywhere? Or just one set piece of land? I would love to build a house away from everything in the middle of the mountains. It would definitely be cool for crafters too. If I was into crafting , making materials and building a house would be pretty sweet. I'll have to see how robust this DLC turns out to be.

That's awesome. If I wasn't so obsessed with GW2 I'd be all over this. Especially if you can choose a plot of land anywhere.

Re: SKYRIM!!! DLC #2
This would have been a really awesome feature had it been part of the original game. Adding it as a DLC doesn't really add much as most people that have played it already have everything they need and don't need to worry about growing a garden or working on a workbench.
If you are going to start a new character it would be cool.

I agree with that. I'm a level 81 already so this really wont be useful, but it would have been nice to have something like this for just starting out.

Re: SKYRIM!!! DLC #2
It definitely depends on the character. My main character is lvl 48 and a bit of a loaner. He spends most of his time in the woods and exploring. He is also a vampire lord so crowds and public places are not his cup of tea. A house out in the woods would be perfect for me.
Up until now I have used the house in Riften, due to it's outside door, and the Dark Brotherhood HQ. Both allow me to remain a full vampire without having to worry about guards and towns people.

I doubt that I'll be playing much of anything other than Guild Wars for awhile, but I would probably get this if I ever took the time to play Skyrim again. I like the idea of actually building your own property.

So you don't make more than 1 character I take it? May I ask why? Do you just twink the character?
Sad to say, but I have no less than 5 characters, all played completely different from one another. Course they may have 1 or 2 overlapping traits, but for the most part different.

Re: SKYRIM!!! DLC #2
I'm so all over this! I took a bunch of architecture and engineering classes in HS and this seems like a ton of fun. It's been forever since I've played SKYRIM!!! so I don't remember what level my character is, but I think she's only like in the mid 20s so I could have a ton of fun with that character or start another. Besides, this gives you a whole new reason to start pillaging so that you can collect an a$$ton of money to buy all the biggest upgrades. I wonder if you can buy multiple plots and build multiple houses?
Also, I agree with Zak that this would be great if you can pick your own plot since I'm a vampire too and I tend to avoid staying a full vampire because I don't want to spend all my time dealing with frightened townsfolk.

Re: SKYRIM!!! DLC #2
So, has anyone gotten this yet? I'm curious as to how many plots there are, how much they cost, and how many homes you can build. I've stashed like 75-80k and probably have another 50k+ in equipment and crap that I could sell to fully play around with the DLC. I'll probably pick it up in the next couple days and share my thoughts.

Re: SKYRIM!!! DLC #2
I picked it up and have yet to be able to build because I have to finish the quests to befriend one of the jarls so I can be offered the land.

Re: SKYRIM!!! DLC #2
you dont need to befriend a jarl just go to one of the jarls assistans and ask if you can buy a house.
If you go in to one of the city's a corrier should come to you and that is another way to get started

The courier came to me with the note that I can get the child's room stuff by talking to the steward in Whiterun (where I bought my first house) and I can adopt a child by talking to the lady at the Riften orphanage. I've tried talking to the jarl and the steward in Falkreath but I can't get the option to load so that I can buy the property. I found some info on where you can get property but haven't been able to get it:
http://www.gamefront.com/skyrim-hearthfire-where-to-buy-plots-of-land/
And here's a link for how to do some building:
http://www.gamefront.com/skyrim-hearthfire-how-to-build-a-house/
Anyway, I'll probably figure it out with some more time played. Besides, I got sidetracked running thru the country while completing some favor quests for Falkreath and ended up having more fun offroading that actually doing anything productive.

Re: SKYRIM!!! DLC #2
Gotcha. I'll just have to jump around the couple of cities with land. I read that not getting the info about land from the courier is a known glitch/problem.

Yeah I read the same and that if you go to the jarls steward or whatever they will sell you the plot if you ask about buying a house

Re: SKYRIM!!! DLC #2
Maybe that's my problem. Supposedly you can buy land in Falkreath but there's no premade house to buy so it might not trigger the steward offering the land.
