Brothers in Arms: Furious 4. Is this the right move to make?
Brothersinarmsgame.us.ubi.com/agegate.php?destURL=/
At E3 this year, Gearbox studios and the creators of the Brothers in Arms series announced a new game with a story similar to that of Inglorious Bastards. Unlike their previous World War II games, which focused on real life battles and genuine historical moments, this game is comical and imaginative. In this game, four very unique, seemingly American warriors are on a mission to take down the furer. (originality is lacking here I must admit) Each of the characters has a special choice of weapon as expected.
The question is whether or not the BIA name will be ruined from this release. While the director promised that the WWII experience that we more commonly associate with this franchise will return, it generally seems that fans of this series are not happy with the sudden change in gameplay.
I think that this game has tons of potential to be a fun and action packed co-op title, but also understand where others are coming from when they say it will ruin the Brothers in Arms name and reputation as a WWII shooter. Let me know you opinion of this title and if it should even be released at all!

they should have just called it "the furious four" and add from the makers of Borthers in Arms. but then people might have tought it had something to do with kungfu panda's "furious five"
"they say it will ruin the Brothers in Arms name and reputation as a WWII shooter"
WWII shooters are over and done with in my book, I don't really enjoy them anymore. Bring on the SCI-Fi shooters or modern shooters

I don't think the setting matters too much, more so the gameplay. That being said BIA has never much interested me.

I don't think I've ever played a Brothers in Arms game because I always thought that other shooters were more superior at the time... but I don't see what the big deal is. So people are upset because of a whole new look on a campaign that will probably last 5-6 hours? I always thought that shooters were mainly competitive multiplayer games, so as long as they kept their core shooter experience, then I don't see the problem. Maybe the people just probably want it to be like 使命召喚. Also didn't Battlefield sort of do this with Bad Company?
Also having a shooter go back to WW2 may not be so bad because shooters seem like they've been focusing on modern-style combat for the past four to five years now. Overall, I think there just needs to be a completely new shooter experience because most shooters are really looking the same in my opinion.

Completely agree there. Everything seems to be: World War themed, 'Modern' Fighting, or Space Fighting.
Something that is still a shooter but completely different would be cool. Why not a survival style shooter similar to GRAW but going the realistic route? So able to set snares, traps, etc. Weapons could be thrown rocks, slings, bows, crossbows, throwing knives, etc. Maybe have a heavy mounted crossbow for turrets or to replace a sniper.

I am proud to say I have no idea what a furious five is.S7 DROOPY wrote:but then people might have tought it had something to do with kungfu panda's "furious five"

I don't think they have much of a reputation to ruin anyway wo I don't see the issue. I like Atrum's medieval or ancient weapons idea.

The game has been put on a backburner for other projects.
Whats the date of that article since the game was announced at last years E3 and wasn't even shown at this years.

I'm not sure dude, I just stumbled across the trailer for the game and was surprised that it had so many comments and dislikes talking about how it was going to ruin the BIA series.
