S7 Summer Showdown - Hot Lap Series

I was kicking around this idea in my head for a while... basically this is how it will work...

Start Date: will be when the post is made...
End Date: will be (roughly) 7 days later...

You will be given:
Location -
Configuration (Track) -
Class -
Limits - (Possible examples below):
- Certain year(s) only
- Must be a Mid Engine Car
- Hatchback Only
- Korean made cars only

Some events will be fairly open, some will be VERY specific...

Points will be awarded after each event, just like the FCS [30, 25, 21...]
Number of Events: TBA


I will do my best to pick tracks that MOST people don't have a clean hot lap on... however if there is a track you have a clean lap on and your fastest time on the leaderboard is not in a car during the dates or from a car that is illegal per event limits then you must submit a screenshot... (take a picture and post it in the thread BEFORE the end of that event for it to count.)

Thoughts?

Sounds like this will be fun. Couple of comments/questions:

1.) Since it would be obvious if a previous hot lap is illegal because of car restrictions, would it really be necessary to post the screenshot beforehand?

2.) Possibly post a screenshot of what the pre-challenge "Friends & Club" or "Club" Leaderboard times for the map and layout in the challenge are in the challenge thread to help make sure there aren't any issues and to help everyone confirm what the map and layout are.

3.) After the challenge is closed, post a screenshot of what the post-challenge "Friends & Club" or "Club" Leaderboard times are for the map and layout. This would make it easy for everyone to then see exactly how they stacked up and it would help to make sure nobody accidentally got credit for an illegal or previous hot lap.

4.) Possibly do this like the FCS and pick one track and set of restrictions per class and go from like F-R3, or some variation thereof. This could be a good break or filler between FCS Season 1 and 2.

I think this will be a really great idea, it's like Solo Ops for Forza with a little longer time limit. It should also help us improve our club status if we're working on speeding up our hot lap times.

Leaderboard times are dated and list the car used... so it would be VERY obvious to me if someone posted a time with an illegal car or posted a time long before the event


Like I said, the plan would be to pick tracks people dont have fast clean lap on... so the screenshot thing would be very rarely needed

Sounds like a good deal. And I'm in for the soccer tourney too. Oh, and what's the cat and mouse game? I've heard you guys talking about it and that you've played it after tourneys, but it's always been when I've missed them.

What happens if you have an already faster time with a same class car on that specific track? How will anybody know your exact time with the car specified on the weekly challenge? Maybe I'm not thinking straight.

BTW, I like this idea and I might join in on this action, lol.

The leaderboards have a date stamp. If you have not posted a proper time, with a proper car, in the time frame specified in the challenge then you are not eligible to win.

In the event that it is the same car and class and you can not beat the previously set time, you must show proof with a screenshot (since the leaderboard will only update with a new date if you beat the previous time)

I'm stoked! Can't wait for the first event. I was tempted to start something just like this for the summer with a Hockenheim event in the BMW 1series. only mods were going to be any tuneable part. Tires excluded. I may run this on Wednesdays just to keep field racing in the mix. I'll be getting my camera ready.

Ok, work has me on lock-down for now. If all goes well tonight and tomorrow night, I'll be free again to play more. And, if I can kick the SaintsRow habit. d@mn that game is fun.
