Re: Top Tips for Inferno Mode
Interesting. I was under the impression that Inferno would be the same difficulty throughout, but at max. So playing the first "act" would be as hard as the last act in Inferneo. Sort of a way to keep people from only doing Hell Baal runs and open up the entire game. But that is not what they are saying here. All it looks like now is Hell+ difficulty.

Negative josh, best gear is supposed to drop off champion and rares....blizz said they wanted to get away from the " boss run for loot " mentality

Re: Top Tips for Inferno Mode
Inferno looks like it will be fun. I never really got to experience Hell difficulty on D2 because all I did at that point was boss runs. It looks like I'll actually be able to do stuff on the harder difficulties now.

So, what is Inferno Mode? It never really explains it and I didn't play D2 or the beta.

There are four difficulties in D3. Normal, Nightmare, Hell, and Inferno. It only went up to Hell in D2. Inferno was added in D3 to give players the ultimate challege I guess you could say, by insanely raising the strength of each monster.
You'll have to get some of the best gear you can in Hell mode to go through Inferno, and you will be rewarded with more awesome drops when you defeat rare/unique creatures.

Re: Top Tips for Inferno Mode
So is this not a persistant open world? How does one start at Act 1 and play through the story line and still be able to play with friends? Does everyone have to be on the same Act or what? If Sticky is on Act 4 of Inferno and I am on Act 1 of Pussy can we team up or no? Or is it more about what level the characters are?

You can have up to four people in a game.
Let's say you host the game and choose normal difficulty... Nobody else can come into your game and play on Nightmare, Hell, or Inferno. They have to play on normal.
If you are in Act 1 and you join someone who is in Act 4, I do not believe you will be able to complete any quests in Act 1 due to the host already completing them and you won't be able to help the person in act 4 unless you get there in your story progression.
If you party up with people that are at your point in the story, then everyone will be progressing through it with you. And you probably could have a higher level person rush you through, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Re: Top Tips for Inferno Mode
So what about PVP? Do you actually have to invite in players to kill since only 4 can be in any one game?

There is no pvp at launch. Blizzard didn't want to delay the game any further to improve the pvp. It will be added later with arenas and whatnot.

Re: Top Tips for Inferno Mode
I smell two expansions for D3- one to increase level cap to 80, and the next to 99 or 100. I think they have it planned out well already. What's cool is you unlock something every level too.

looks and sounds epic.
I'm kinda glad they are trying to get away from the boss only unique drops.
It will keep it interesting

Re: Top Tips for Inferno Mode
Coolhand, inferno mode is diablos version of "endgame content", which is basically how blizz keeps you playing the game after you get to max lvl XD. Its similar to wows format, you get to max lvl you grind out the gear to progress into raid ( in this instance since there is no raid you grind gear basically to down the acts major boss and progress onto the next act ) once you got everything and things become relatively easier you move on to the next act and begin the cycle all over again. As far as i can tell with how the pvp works is you have your team members in the same game and there will be somewhere to go to talk to someone to que you into other teams.
