Patch comes out tomorrow and private servers (4-3)

Went ahead and set up my paypal to accept donations for the server and if everything goes smoothly I will have a server up tomorrow. Hopefully there are plenty servers available as I know supply was limited when they launched on ps3.

Stupid permissions will not let me edit....

All amounts are welcome for donations but if you want an admin spot I ask for a minimum of ten dollars but I might lower that if it is too high for everyone.

they changed the time "We will be making updates to game servers on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 April 3rd starting at 8 AM UTC until 4 PM UTC. During this time you may be kicked from your game, but should be able to reconnect shortly after or connect to a different server."

I sent in a donation. Even if I don't play much I still plan to play more with the server/update. Plus I am happy to help S7 in any way

I have baseball practice with the kids tonight but I might try and hop on later in the evening. I hope it all goes smoothly and the EA servers don't crash out.

I think you guys might be getting your hopes up too high. Everytime I have wanted a Battlefield game to be BadAss it turns out to be a cluster fock. I am boycotting em all going forward.

New server is a great thing.

Dropped my $10 in the kitty and now I'm off to download the patch. See you guys online.

This patch is awesome. I don't know if I just haven't played the game enough recently or what but the game looks more real, feels more real, and is soooo much better after the patch. I heard a handful of you guys griping about some gun or another being changed and I guess I'm not really going to notice that because I haven't played much recently.

As for the servers, best thing since sliced bread. If I remember right, it was like $70 for 3 months, so we should be good for 3 months and on our way to the next 3 months (although GR:FS comes out in two so that will cut down my BF3 time). I played with everyone for like 3 hrs and had a great time. It seemed as though the public players were fairly decent too (I didn't notice any super noobs).

I have a couple of questions about the whole thing:

1.) I noticed that we were playing on a hardcore conquest server. Can the game type be changed to any game type by an admin or did we rent a hardcore conquest server?

2.) How does the whole admin thing go and are we going to try and limit who has access to the admin functions, possibly like a GC and some officers like for any other game?

3.) The "public" players that were playing on the server, are they people that just found the server by searching for a server that was running the game type our server was or how does the system pick them?

4.) If an admin isn't playing, can we still access the server and if so, what game type is it running?

Overall, I'd say that while I was impressed by the game when I first started playing it, I think tonight was the best couple of hours I've had playing it. The server wasn't crashing or dropping players (too much) and it seemed as though the fun never stopped. I look forward to pwning and getting pwned some more. I'll probably be on Wednesday night after I get out of work (around 11:30/midnight EST) if anyone else is planning on playing.

1.) yes we can change and game mode and map.

2.) as of now its only a few people and not sure who or what is going to be worked out for bf3.

3.) yes they are people who found our servers in a sever search most likey joined because of map or game mode or some thing along those lines.

4.) from my understanding they are always running 24/7 admin is not need to keep games going they are on a preset map list they the admin has left it on .
