Diablo 3 Release Date Set - May 15

May 15th is the official release date for the PC version of D3. I'm sure I'll be picking it up, as long as my laptop can play it. If for some reason they give an official announcement for a console version, then I'll wait and pick it up instead.

@miller, hey when you get it, I can bring my media pc over and you can see how it runs on that, It should be able to handle it, prob not at max settings but is should be able to look still good.

I'm pretty excited. I believe I saw that it is shipping without pvp? Not a big deal just wanted to verify.

I'm not sure I'll have time for it tbh. As of Monday I'll be working 6:30am - 7pm five days a week. I'm not sure there's room in my life for D3.

Correct. They will be adding that in a later patch.

And Epic, if you get D3, your life will be D3!

im so happy to see a release date and not a maybe in this time frame date

sucks that pvp wont come with it but im sure in the first patch or two it will be there ...

@Miller idk about full game but in the beta the requirments are not that bad at all .. i could play the beta on my older pc on low with no problem and my old pc was an old HP dual core... but i am happy with my new rig playing on Max looks so sexy

from that website us the pull down and pick the game in this case d3 and it will tell you if you can and if not what you need to improve on

Press start, then search for 'system info'. Job done. Gfx card will be under the display section.

Or
Start - Run - type "dxdiag.exe"

and that has all your system info.

I kinda thought my comp wouldn't run this and canirunit confirmed what I thought, my video card and processor aren't good enough. Looks like I'll be waiting for the 360 version of this.

Probably won't. We pretty much just use the laptop for internet and taxes so it's not necessary to buy a fancy computer. I'd rather continue to buy expensive home entertainment pieces. The next big purchases will be to deck out the downstairs living room (which is currently empty) so that it's got a big tv and all the toys needed for some serious Xbox gaming.

Me too . It's to bad you can't easily upgrade a laptop. I may have to look into buying a new one just for D3!

Your computer has to be very, very old and basic to not be able to run it. Especially on low settings.

Yeah but my laptop is like 2-3 years old and has one of the old AMD dual cores that's only like 2.1ghz and the video card is bare bones because we got a Gateway that is specifically designed for web, office docs, and like simple media (YouTube, pics, home movies).

As for the second living room, right now the 55" is in the first floor living room with the game consoles, blu-ray, and cable. Eventually we'd like to set up the basement with the game consoles and the current blu-ray and tv and then upgrade the upstairs stuff and make it more of a tv/movie type setup.

I just bought mine during Christmas 2010, and it doesn't make it. It was an inexpensive Sony Vaio, but the on board Intel Graphics and the Pentium dual core processor still do not match up on the "can i run it" site.

I wouldn't base too much of canyourunit.
If I was in your guys situation I would download a game with decent graphics and a similar view like Alien Swarm. It's free, just get on steam or google it.
Boot it up and see if your computer will play it. I'm reasonably sure it will work easy on low, probably run just fine on medium/recommended.

@miller the media center pc I have should run it, the processor might be the only problem, it's got a older graphics card but it could play city of heros, I'll check it out this weekend. Graphics card has Hdmi out and it's has a razer barricuda sound card, that rocks. I also have wireless keyboard and mouse and the adapter to use a Xbox controller, but I doubt d3 has controller code

I'll probably still wait till the console version comes out because I really haven't played many pc games since Neverwinter Nights 2. I got SC2 and played it for like a week or so and then it became too hard to get enough time to use the computer and I just really couldn't get into it as much.
