The Hunger Games
After seeing a brief trailer in theaters I decided to pick up the first book of the three book series. In less then one week I had read though the entire book and started on book two. Has anyone else had the pleasure of reading this great trilogy or is looking forward to the movie coming out march 23?
Re: The Hunger Games
Yea I finished the first one in two days....really good book I thought. I havent started on the others because I wanted to see the movie before reading the last two.
I also just finished up Act of Valor it is slated to come out this weekend. It was filmed with real navy seals so should be full of badassness...but probably short on acting.

Re: The Hunger Games
I've been planning on reading it. I like all these super-easy reading books lately (Percy Jackson, Hunger Games, etc) They're fun stories and you can read a few pages on commercial breaks.
PS: Panzer can read???

Yea I like Percy Jackson too. Another good one is Lorien Legacies I Am Number Four and The Power of Six.
Re: The Hunger Games
It might be an easy read but it feels like an emotional roller coaster. It possible the pressure of 3 tests in 1 week and reading the book at the same time is just to much at once.
PS: we talk about the Halo book series all the time Atrum.

I assumed you pirated audiobooks.

Re: The Hunger Games
Nope bought each book for around $6 off my kindle. The audio books are like $26 and my budget right now is tight so audio was a no go.
EDIT: I'm not low enough to pirate books just tv shows.

Local libraries lend audio books for free, btw.

Re: The Hunger Games
I read this series when I was in the DR last February and the series is fantastic. I can't wait for the movies, they too should be pretty good.

Re: The Hunger Games
Just finished book 2 today, another great book and ill probably start book 3 before the end of this week. I have planned on finishing the series before the movie comes out. So far I feel the first 2 books would each make for a great movies.
Re: The Hunger Games
I hate to be the spoiler but I absolutely hated how the trilogy ended. I was extremely disappointed in the ending. This series could have easily been four books. I feel like Collins rushed the ending and crammed it all into Mockingjay because she had already agreed to a trilogy. I'll let you guys decide on your own just stating my opinion. I'm still looking forward to the movie.

Re: The Hunger Games
I agree that the last book was mediocre but you have to remember that these were a young adults trilogy that became popular with adults, so they're not necessarily up to the same level as some other series.

Re: The Hunger Games
Yeah I'm about 60% done with the final book and I can tell the details that made the first two books great are beginning to fade. District after disctrict gets taken back over and the only districts that are even half way mentions are districts 2 and 8, so far. I always try to get myself really into the books I'm reading so its very depressing to see how Peeta has changed to this hallow shell of his former self. Either way once I'm done we can discuss more, I should be done by the end of the week.
Re: The Hunger Games
I enjoyed the series...DL'd the books and dropped them into my Kindle app. They were good. Hope the movie does the first book justice.
Re: The Hunger Games
Well I finished the last book and I have to agree it wasn't the best ending but it was a realistic ending at that. I feel after all the things Katniss had gone though it shows how much war can change who you once were.
Also what would the perfect ending be if you had written the ending to the last book?

Re: The Hunger Games
It's been a out a year since I finished them so the details are fuzzy, I just remember not being as impressed by the ending as I was by the first 2 books.
