Game Settings: All-pro, 5 min quarters, no clock run-off, default on all other settings (including time/weather)

Details:

It's that time of the year when the NFL season comes to a close and football fans begin gathering to watch whatever 2 teams are battling it out for a spot in the next level of playoffs, and ultimately the Super Bowl. In appreciation of that, it's time for what I hope will be our First Annual Intra-Clan Madden Tourney. Are you ready for some football?

Matchups:

The way this will work is we'll have all interested parties register in advance by posting their gamertag on this thread, just like in Roll Call (please include the team you would like to play in your post). Potential participants must be registered no later than 11:59pm on Sunday, January 29. On Monday January 30th I'll generate random numbers for each participant and using that "seeding" determine the matchups. As an example, if we have 8 players, the initial games will be like this:

RD 1:
1 vs 8
2 vs 7
3 vs 6
4 vs 5

RD 2:
Winner of 1 vs 8 vs winner 4 vs 5
Winner of 2 vs 7 vs winner 3 vs 6

Championship:
Winners of the RD 2 games

Should we end up with an odd number of players, random numbers will be selected to have a first-round bye. The tourney will be a single-elimination format with the last player standing to claim the bragging rights, a custom designed sig designed by Atrum, and a $15 Amazon giftcard.

Scheduling:

How the games will be scheduled will be that once the matchups are listed, the participants will decide a time that works best for both of them to play. To try and make this not stretch out forever, players should try to complete their game within 48 hrs of the matchup being posted on this thread. Due to RL, this may not happen, but it would be appreciated by all involved for the games to be completed ASAP. Home team for the games will be decided by the RL regular season record of the team, team with the better record will be home. After the game, BOTH players will need to post the outcome of the game in this thread to confirm who won the game.

Teams:

If everyone picks a different team that they want to play, each player will get to play the team they chose. In the case that two or more players chose the same team, all interested parties names will be placed in a random drawing with the winner getting the to play the team. During the games, players will be required to use their team's away jersey if they're away and home jerseys if they're home. In the championship game players will be free to use whichever jerseys they like, as long as both players agree that it won't be too difficult to distinguish which team is which.

Additional Comments:

As this is the first Madden Tourney (that I know of), I'm open to suggestions from the players to make it work better and be more fun. I only selected custom settings for a few of the settings, but if there's more that we want to change we can look into that when everyone is registered. I look forward to hitting the grid iron with everyone and may the best player win.

I don't mind using another team. I just need some time with the game to find one that suits my style.

League would work. I didn't think there was going to be such a large draw but I'm glad that there is. We can take a look at it later in the week when we get closer to the registration deadline and we have a better idea of the total number of interested players.

Hit the next roll call coming in Feb. and you will be good to go.
There is currently no date for this and only 7 days left in the month we should probably wait till Feb any way so every one who wants to be in can have the chance to hit the roll call.

That's kind of what I was thinking. We can set everything up by next Monday and then wait till Feb 1 to start games so everyone can hit Roll Call. Technically if he missed Roll Call he'd be out of the tourney. I don't think anyone will mind waiting a few more days. Gives everyone some time to practice with their teams after those are figured out.

As discussed, we'll wait until after the February Roll Call is up so that everyone can hit roll and then we'll start the tourney. If anyone has any questions/comments/FU's, please post up ASAP so that we can get this thing rolling.

Let Wiggles or OC take the Pats, I'll take Green Bay or another unused team - I've only played 5 games so far, so I'm undecided.
